Nice one! I saw you online with Lew and Glen but I didn't get on until 8.30 or so. I think Innocent and Gav were on at some point too?

I ended up testing out the built-in LFG system in the newer Xbox updates and managed to get a hard mode completion too!

My raiding has been a bit random this week. I completed Vosiks with an LFG group and Morphies, then the same night I hooked up with some americans and ran the raid from scratch again, going all the way through to Aksis phase 2....then I got Aksis last night with a third group.

Pro tip - I completely f*cked up getting the chest at the end...due to a combination of:-

1. My inventory was full due to halloween crap
2. I thought I deleted said crap but actually just used some of it
3. I created a key with inventory full - this goes to the postmaster so it can then only be collected in game
4. Any subsequent keys you make go to the postmaster as well - even if you have made room
5. After the final Aksis fight you get booted to orbit after a relatively short time, so it's not possible to get to the tower and back in time (assuming someone is still there to keep the instance open for you)
6. No-one stayed around so I couldn't keep the instance open anyway

Won't make this mistake again - always have a key ready!

I burned all of my keys before Aksis, had to use two at the siege engine chest area because I opened the regular one first by mistake - whoops. I wasn't sure we'd beat Aksis and on the chance I'd not be on the raid again this week, I use the last of my keys and had nothing for the final chest when we reached it. Still, I got a 400 Steel Medulla, a 400 If Materia and 2x 400 Zeal Vectors, so it wasn't a bad haul at all. I just want that hand cannon now.

Ah...sweet sweet 400 loot - hoping I will see some one day!

It is tricky with keys as you just don't know when to chance using them.

I have built up a few spare shards because of doing a few bosses twice. Actually spent 10 re rolling armour!

We had another stab at heroic raid tonight, completed the Vosik challenge after half an hour or so of trying, Zambonie on with one wipe, Aksis 1 with no wipes and Aksis 2 with one wipe. Very smooth, slick and easy. We had a bit of a duff wheel who gave us a feel daft wipes on Vosik but he left before Aksis, so it was nice when he dropped out.

Zambonie challenge next will be interesting.

Mastodon - good news fella!

I was starting later than you guys again (about 9) so I got in with an LFG group. We had a fairly smooth run too so it was good!

Loot was dropping all over the place (although only guns) I got:-

2 X 399 LMG's
400 Ex machina
2 X 400 sidearms
400 Steel Medulla
400 hand cannon

Plus some normal mode stuff :-)

I think challenge mode next week will be Aksis, as there are only two challenge modes according to previous data mining...hopefully it gives a chance at all the raid armour stuff.

My chest piece is still 393 - the shame! :-)

Sorry to ask a stupid question, but feels like you fellas would know best.

Had Destiny for quite a while, but not bought any expansions yet. Eldest lads birthday tomorrow, thought I might splurge as an extra gift for him and complete the set.

What's the best path, both for ease (it's tomorrow) and cost (it's an afterthought, not a main present)?

There are quite a few expansions that have come out over the last 3 years, but when they released the last one they did a new bundle called Destiny - the collection.

This is the base game plus all the expansion's for the price of a normal game. You *might* be able to buy some of the newer expansions separately but most of them require previous expansions and you can only get those in the collection.

This is on Xbox one, the latest update and collection didn't come out for the 360. I'm not sure what the last package was you could get there.

Double posting because it's a different topic...and I'm the only one that comes in here any more :-)

Phew! Finally got everything done that I wanted to for RoI. Managed to find a crack squad last night for Aksis challenge mode, and get it done after a few tries. With a good team it's pretty easy, with an average team it's...painful.

After that I just needed one more iron lord bounty to get the book done...that in turn meant dusting off an alt character and doing the story missions. I needed to kill fallen majors so I ended up cheesing the last story mission, where you kill iron lords.

So I finished off Destiny RoI by cheesing bosses, getting 3 exotic engrams out of 7 coins and waving goodbye to Siva locked in a vault.

I think most of you have already, but I'm going to hang up my Destiny boots for awhile, probably until Destiny 2, possibly forever.

A massive thanks to everyone who has carried me through raids and other missions over the last 3 years - I'm very grateful for it and it's been a total blast!

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

P.S. If I'm online playing any game (other people use my xbox/account) and you want one more - just invite me - I'll come racing back! :-)

Nice one dude, you've done well to hang on in there and complete it all.

I'm not getting on with BF at all, just doesn't flick my switch so might pick up Destiny again until something else comes out.

Thanks for the games mate, it's been a blast. You've always been a steady hand and a level head in a fight and I'll miss your "exotic hats". Some of the absolute best of Destiny was the rote learning of King's Fall and the heroic challenge modes, with Lew, Glenn, Wuddie and Trash. We had that raid absolutely battered by the end. Wrath of the Machine was fun but somehow less compelling. You will be back on Destiny 2, whether you can admit it to yourself now or not.

I was a relative latecomer to Destiny, I think I played it in the first week after it was released, hit level 20 then packed it in and didn't come back until The Taken King released. Since then I've put an obscene amount of time into it, but I think I'm ready to give it up. It seems quite symbolic to make the statement to myself, as Destiny has almost been a hobby in itself aside from gaming.

I've hit 399 light with my primary and about 396 with my second and third characters, all I need to get my Warlock over to 400 is a pair of boots. The only thing I haven't done is the Aksis hard challenge and I just can't be bothered any more. I don't need the bragging rights in a game that people will now be leaving in droves. We've saved the universe many times over, smashed pads, wall-glitched, rage quite Trials of Osiris and had a hell of a laugh along the way, but I can't keep going with it now, I've got too many other games to play and not enough will to keep going.


I'll be back, we all will. The universe won't save itself, whenever Destiny 2 arrives, we'll all answer the Traveler's call.
