I like the sound of Ruin Wings but I got the raid gloves on Wednesday so there's little point.

Think I'll upgrade Armamentarium and buy some exotic shards and leave it at that.

Apart from getting a couple of shards looks like I'll be saving up for xur next week!! Does he have a heavy/rocket launcher telemetry for sale??

May I ask where you got one as loot?

I've done a bit of research on the Eris quest to buy the urn from Xur. There's a few more steps to it but it leads to some legendary gloves (max light level 33).

Yeah, just done a couple of steps,
Kill 25 thrall with solar fusion, easy if you got murmur and use the same checkpoint as the 20 fusion kills.
Kill 5 cursed thrall by melee!! I used chamber of light on the moon for this, killed the first 2 go to orbit and repeat.
Next step is 100 hive acolytes or wizards with void, will do that later

Hi all - just a word of warning/caution on upgrading armour.

NOTE - I'm assuming the price for new armour is still 13 coins?

If so it's cheaper to buy a new one and shard your old one than it is to upgrade. The upgrade is 7 strange coins, and then the exotic shard to get to max defense will be another 7, so thats 14 in total for a fully upgraded piece.

If you buy a new one, then it's only 13 coins and you can shard the old one to cover the shard needed for the max defense....so it only costs 13 coins in total.

Obviously the one coin may be worth it to guarantee the upgrade rather than having to wait for a new one to be sold.

Doesn't an upgraded exotic rank up quicker than a fresh one though? I'm sure I've read that somewhere.

Still debatable as to whether it's worth it if you're low on strange coins.

Yes it's worth having a think about.

I use the Symbiote helm on both of my hunters and they need upgrading. Cheaper to buy the new ones than wait for the upgrades. And you get to shard the old ones too.

FYI, a fully upgraded exotic will give you two exotic shards, not one. I sharded 2 x Pocket Infinity and 3 x Super Good Advice last night, the ones that were levelled up or maxed gave 2 shards and telemtries. If you are going to upgrade a duplicate weapon, shard the levelled up one. (I haven't charged you for this advice )

Or, I could play the exotic engram wheel of fortune. I have 370 motes of light (not a typo), I think I can gamble a few and I may get lucky...............

Anyone who has played with me knows my methods. Throw enough dice at once and a few will come up sixes.

Edit to add; Or just charge in and punch them in the face. Which is a winning move on patrol. Less useful when you have a group of exploding thrall bds. Again, my apologies to my nighfall running brethren.

Well I (F1Gav) upgraded my Warlock helm and icebreaker, still have around 60 strange coins.

Had enough motes to buy two helm engrams, bought them in the hope of grabbing an upgraded helm for my Titan, ended up with two more exotic helms for my warlock !! Well one of them can be passed onto the other warlock I have.

Now I'm undecided on buying truth and upgrading my red death and thunder lord. For the upgrades I'm gonna need more glimmer.

Main warlock will hit 31, second warlock now lvl 30 and my Titan needs a bit more luck
