Does anyone fancy having a go at Urzok? tried the other night with one 29, we didn't even get his shield down! I think the blade of crota is supposed to spawn just after him, and it's easy to take him down then, apparently.
Anyway, give me an ad, usually online, and up for anything.

I solo'd this piece of cake... go to skywatch, and sit on top of the building in the middle of the map, wait for the public event and Urzok to spawn (i crouched until he spawned, none of the ads can hit you..
You will need a good Primary, i used VOC, a arc secondary, i used 77 wizard fusion rifle, and then a good rocket launcher, Gjallahorn!!
make sure all your ammo is maxed and do not shoot anything till he arrives, once in, take his shield out with ARC and then cane him with rockets, i fired 4 rockets, had to duck while being shot so his shield went back up,had to take out a couple of wizards wth my VOC, then took his shield down again and finished him off with 4 more rockets.
I didn't have wolf pack on gjallahorn either.
This happened during the event where the minions attack each other... might be tougher on warsat with the time limit.. but i reckon it only took 4 mins once urzok spawned.

I was having a right good moan about this last night. If all you use is vanguard gear then it's cheaper to hit lvl31 no Radiant shards needed. It's just not possible to go beyond 31If you have raid gear, to hit 31 you need to spend Radiant Shards, why Bungie felt this was a good idea is beyond me. Surely shards should only be needed to go beyond 31

Radiant shards are pretty much what's stopping me getting any higher at the moment and it seems you need to be 31 to get anywhere with Crota but the only way to get them is to reach checkpoints....with Crota!

Been somewhat overloaded for the last few days - will try and be on tonight and I suspect that may be my last chance until after some midwinter festival that's turning up.

Apologies to those wanting to do the VoG last night. We reconvened to try and take on Crota (and lost) instead.
It was an interesting experiment though. We knew what we had to do but couldn't execute it quick enough. Going invisible and standing next to him with the sword waiting for his shield to drop induces sweaty palms I can tell you
I managed to get 3 hits with the sword at one point though which did a surprising amount of damage.
More practice and better timing and we will have that sussed, at least we managed to stay alive until he enraged.
