Great fun as always, gutted I came last but the car darts was the killer. Had NPC characters spawn on me both times right as I was about to hit the ramp, wiping all my speed off meaning I managed just 10points each go. Grrrr.

On the joker round where we all went together I didn't hit anyone and scored a very easy 100 points. Bloody Typical.

And yeah, glad my suggestion of locking all top gear races to first person only is gaining traction with everyone else. Makes for a massive amount of comedy frustration ("I'm on your bloody left!!!!!" laugh ) but also adds massively to the fun.
I think off road stuff in first person is going to be a bit mental hehe

Hold down the touchpad so you get the interaction menu up; scroll down to the chat settings and turn it to 'Crew and Friends only' or whatever, just not 'Everyone'.

You're still stuck with listening to everyone in missions and races, though you can mute individuals manually.
Although if you are white dot hunting its often funny to leave the chat setting on everyone so you can hear the abuse being levelled at you hehe

Thanks for letting me join up with you chaps on Friday afternoon, apologies I wasn't as active as I would have liked to have been, I kept getting called out with work. Having said that when I did tag along I think I ran you over or generally just got in the way anyway, sorry smile

No problem at all if you have to go AFK - as long as we continued going into missions through the vote screen, you get the benefit. Though IIRC we elected not to do Pick Up Sticks because it requires everyone to get in the chopper before the objective appears.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words concerning the challenges. I think this weekend we'll do an endurance race. I'm working on the race in question and will have more rules as the time goes on. In the meantime, thought I'd share some of the published races and events from our other nights.

and if you stay in there long enough you'll have to blow it up to get back out.

Nothing in it (yet)...

You can also shoot the doors. Good place for going and racking up the 5star wanted time as you can snipe the police as they enter. Also good for hiding in when you have a bounty and in a room where people dont realise you can get in the mine.

There is in single player. As Michael, there are three areas on the map with writing on the walls hinting at a murder mystery. Then when you've found them all, there's a dead body with concrete shoes in the water near Zancudo as your final clue. That means you can access Solomon's office after dark and there's another confession letter on the table. Go to the mine and there's a dead body in 1930s wear. He's called Isaac, and is added to your phone. When you call him, you can change the screen to have new vintage filters.

Alright fellas. So there may still be a bit of work to be done on the track, but I think I can safely announce the first Pistonheads GTA Online Endurance Race!

VBRJ 12 Hours (24 Minutes) of Cypress Flats

Track: Cypress Flats Grand Prix
( Rockstar Social Club Link: http://rsg.ms/c37df7d )

Vehicle: Cheval Picador

Time:
9:00 on Saturday the 7th of March

Rules:

  • Maximum spend on the vehicle modifications must not exceed $18,000 (twice the value of the car). You will realise this means you will not be able to afford a turbo upgrade - this is intentional. The only exception to this rule is any neons you may wish to add. You may add as many as you like and in whatever colour you choose.
  • A challenge will be issued this evening consisting of three laps of the above course in a modified Picador. Attempting this challenge will save a time as your 'Qualifying Time'. Setting a time on this challenge in anything other than a Picador means you will have to start from further back in the penalty lane.
  • Racers are expected to do things gentlemanly. If you cause a spin, stop and let the other person get back in position. If you both lose a place, tough. If arguments become heated, I'll take the field as a safety car and get everyone to form up in running order and we'll do a rolling restart.
  • Race will be GTA to allow me to get out of the car. You are expected to use the pit lanes to repair your car rather than respawning your vehicle. Use of weapons is strictly prohibited.
  • The Race Steward's (i.e. My) word is final. Argument during the race can earn you a 5-second stop-and-go penalty, and complaining after the race with no real basis will give you a penalty at my discretion.
  • The race will take 24 minutes real time, 12-hours in game, with the ambient settings set to current, so rain may happen, as will night falling. Drivers are expected to adapt to the conditions as they arise. The race including parade lap should not take more than 30 minutes in total, it is expected that drivers should be able to get privacy for this period. Saying 'the missus wants a go' is not a way of weaselling out halfway through and then complaining about your low rank. Even 3-year olds should understand that Daddy needs a bit of time to himself (stop sniggering back there).
  • No need to post pictures here, but it's always good fun to watch!
  • If you manage to 'theme' your Picador to have a sponsor from the GTA universe (as seen in some of Broughy's team races) you are allowed another $3,000 to cover any paint costs and add to any additional modifications you may so desire. Some examples will be posted later this evening once I can get on the playstation again. You are of course allowed to have your own scheme, but this means you miss out on the juicy Sponsor bonus.
The race track isn't fully idealised yet. Some unexpected dogsitting means I wasn't able to sort out some of the checkpoints, but any feedback is welcome before I set the challenge and start taking your qualifying times. Any questions, feel free to ask.

I was going to suggest we do something with the Picador! - so we do the 3 lap challenge to get a Qualifying time ?

I'd been meaning to get a Picador at some point; nice to have a reason to do so!

Picture of my Picador:

Spec (and cost):
Picador: $9000
EMS level 4: $6365
Classic harbour blue paint: $798
Private plate: $570
Yellow on black plate: $570
Total spend: $17303 (plus the electric blue neons)

ETA: I've realised I misread the rules and I could spent $18k on mods *on top of the car price*. I shall update when I'm next on...

Delighted to announce that 24/7 have agreed to "sponsor" me in the up coming event! Sporting a green body, red wheels and orange neons, 24/7 hope the new sponsorship agreement will help promote the brand and prevent people holding them at gun point every day!

Total cost (including the extra $3000 allowance); $19420
