Anyone noticed lately that when you're on the starting line in a race, if you have the throttle on the car launches forward just as the counter hits 1? Not easy to get a good start when it does that.....

Yeah I get them sometimes too, when going for a boost launch it sometimes does a false/jump start, rather annoying!

I've had an idea for a race night. I've got a couple of Sport Classics in my garage now and thought it would be cool if we did a road rally series. We could have a series of point to point races going around Los Santos in Sport Classic cars. I know there isn't really a cheap way to get a good Sport Classic but I'm sure a few of us have at least one anyway.

Thoughts? I've not been here for long so feel free to ignore me if yous have already done this .

Do you mean as an actual race? If so, create it and send invites. Most of us are pretty honest with our criticisms. I like the idea of a mile miglia style event.

You could even do stages, so the end of one race is the start of the next.

Yeah the idea is a Mille Miglia sort of thing, I was thinking of having stages that linked up as well.

I've not used the creator much yet but I've got a free day tomorrow so I'll have a mess around with it and see what I can figure out.

The race creater is pretty straight forward. There's a tutorial. It takes longer than you think though.

Making a race is easy, making a highly polished one that has the X factor is very hard

Can I suggest the observatory area, there's nice windy roads leading up to it and there's a dirt path that leads off from it.
You could make some really good 'stages' here.

How about this idea to expand on yours....

Say if I chose a starting point and then 7 or so locations on the map.
7 people then get to create a stage each, using the locations as start and finish for each one.
Then once all are completed, they are put together in order in a playlist to create a really long race that has 7 stages.
Cue a Sunday night special event hopefully with a 15+ player grid

Could be a good shout. I've got a few ideas for stuff I'd like to try but I reckon sharing the load makes it more likely it'll actually happen .

Like I say, I'll have a play around with the creator tomorrow and see how I go.

He's never done any of the heists so I've said I'll help him and 2 off here would be a decent team to work through.

That sounds like a cracking idea, Zed. I was going to set up my Muscle Cars challenge but maybe we do that next weekend and we do this this coming week?

I like the idea of the various points on the map you have to hit, we could do specific big landmarks - Purple Dinosaur, the Mt Gordo Lighthouse, the Rebel Radio building... this is an awesome idea. Open to all Sports Classics of course!

I'm probably not going to be around much next weekend. Work and two kids birthday parties will probably have killed me by Sunday night. It'd probably be better to wait until we have people to make the stages and so on before we set a date anyway.

Im hoping to get online at some point tomorrow to try and get some locations sorted for the stage start/finishes.
I think it should be at least a week or so to give the creators time to get their stage as they want/tested.

Stick your name down if you want to be one of the creators, should we go for 7 stages or more? Maybe just see how many people want to get involved, upto a max of 10 for the playlist.
I think the easiest way to decide who does which stage is to just give them out in order of who puts their name down.
