Good racing last night. Had my usual mix of inconsistency and bad luck compounded by the Omnis running out of steam on longer straights but I got third in that race at the docks, which is as good as a win as far as I'm concerned .

I really enjoyed it, apart from when I thought I'd give the Drift Tampa a go. That's basically just a £1million car to look at and do donuts in as it has no redeeming features in a race. Loved the Omnis.

Next week does anyone fancy a bit of rallycross ?

We can use the pit lane for 1 joker lap per race.

Pick from the quatro , stratos, kuruma or sultan.

Or we can have a crapheap challenge , pick from schwartzer, penumbra, futo , blista compact.

Or stty saloons , primo, warrener, fugitive, glendale,intruder, super diamond,stratum, premier.

Thank you. On slow mo I appear to drive over a sunken rock which makes my car wobble. I still don't know why it decided to snap into a spin but that rock can't have helped....

You drove over the rock, yes - but didn't spin immediately and it does seem to go round without any twitch or other warning. Dangerous Italian SWB rally car

ETA: I just paused it as I re-watched and the car settles on its outside rear after the rock, then goes round. So it's just a twitchy bugger.

Super Diamond Rally Cross would be good... if expensive...

trouble is the warreners not in sports with the sultan, quattro etc.

i guess we could alternate from sports-sedans each race though .

i've got/stolen 5 good rally x tracks so we could have a decent amount of laps per race, advantage of this is of your punted off there's still plenty of time to get back up the front again , trouble with a 3 lap race is if your taken out there's not much time to fight back.

less tracks, more laps sounds good. If you don't know the track it's hard to get anywhere in 3 laps

If you don't start on the front row it's pretty much impossible to get to the front in a short-ish race too. Starting at the front was a massive advantage to me last night; when I had to rejoin and started in last place each race, it was incredibly hard to climb through the field except by luck if people crashed ahead of me. And that was with what was probably the fastest car, the Carbo.

Once i get a feel what people want to race ie pure rally x or road tracks as well i'll stick the playlist up by weds so everyone has the chance to practice if they want.

Would people be interested in having proper grids based on the last races results ? Obviously lap 1 would be sent getting in position for the lap 2 which would be the actual race start or is that too much faffing about?

too much faffing, and you'll get false starts (cheating)

Yeah, too much faffing. Should be reverse grids anyway, but with Rockstar's grid system it's just not really feasible.

I'm easy about what we actually race, the Rallycross races might be fun for a mix of off road and on road stuff. I was working on a couple of rally tracks a while ago, I could dust them off and see how they are.
