I had Elite for the BBC Micro on tape originally. I actually re-bought it later on floppy disk, as it had extra galaxies and stuff.

I never did get to "Elite" status, but "Deadly" I think.

Same here, and I played it for countless evenings as a lad. So I can't imagine how long it must have taken to get to Elite.

Still my favourite game of all time.
