Still plodding along. Not even at the reactor core mission yet.

Shame about the odd glitch (guns randomly in the air, hostiles completely ignoring you etc) but the size of the station is immense. Would be great to wander around without the fear of the xenomorph.

I can't think of a harder game I've played. I haven't finished yet but keep getting stuck on sections for a couple of hours. I'm only playing it on Easy too.

I really hate the Working Joes.

Bought this for £16 from a Humble Bundle sale yesterday, so look forward to getting stuck in soon. Having said that the Steam Sale has just started so I feel there might be a few games in the backlog now!

FFS - Got to the start of mission six when, with a deafening clang the penny dropped. Yep - missed the medical syringe blueprints AND the EMP blueprints.....
Theres no easy fix for this - I can either struggle on or begin again :/

If I can make it 4 more levels I think you get the v2 - and with the alien its pretty much insta-kill anyway I spose. But still....

Ive got 3/4 of a health bar left - the issue for me I think is that I missed the EMP schematics as well so I will be very vulnerable to synthetics. Just reading up I can get the schematics early in level 10 and only one of the 4 to go would be android heavy - the other is short and sweet and the other two are me vs the big man so health is irrelevant.
I might try going for it and seeing how I do...... Its worked ok for me so far!
Interestingly I have died 3 times in total - once at the hands of the Alien, once from the early looters and once from a synthetic. I understand from my brother that he is more familiar with having another stab at it hehe although to be fair he is further in than I.

With some games I will make an effort to get 100% of the trophies (on Playstation) but I can't even begin to think how anyone could play the whole game without dying or indeed without killing anyone. I died loads of times.

There may well be some occasions where the big dog doesn't quite insta-kill you..

This is true. If you manage to get a blast off with the flamethrower right at the last second it'll smack into you and knock you over, leaving you dazed and reducing your health but not killing you altogether. When this happens you need to move on straight away because it'll come back to get you pretty quickly.

The ripley edition is currently on sale on the game website (Xboxone/PS4) bundled with the alien bluray boxset for £30. Don't know how long the offer is for but looks like a good deal if anybody is looking at buying it.

I bought this on steam the other day, not yet installed it.

But if anyone else has it, PC Gamer are giving away Steam Keys for corporate lockdown DLC - http://www.pcgamer.com/win-a-free-steam-key-for-al...

Well, if this isn't the most difficult game since Jetset Willy, I don't know what is. I'm only a short way into the game where I meet the Alien properly for the first time and I'm finding it very tough going. Just evading the big fker is seriously difficult. I'm hiding, sneaking and trying to walk with the wind but I must have died 20 times already. And this is on medium.

Any advice?

Set it to easy biggrin

I haven't got that far yet. I'm having to plat it small chunks because I'm finding it somewhat stressful played at night, on my own in my office, with headphones on.

Do what I did and drop it to Easy. It's still quite challenging.

I was enjoying the game until I hit a difficulty spike (Chapter 5 - from what I've read subsequently, this is generally accepted to be one of the hardest bits of the game) and really wanted to continue with it but I was in real danger of getting frustrated enough to walk away completely.
