Anyone exited?

Always look forward to the new release each year.....the improvements look good this year, especially the match engine.

Have pre-ordered, but to be honest, more out of habit than anything. I havent looked at any of the new features. What have they done to the match engine?

I always found the handheld version too light touch. I'm not fussed about the 3d game day graphics, but the depth of detail and data was always too little and meant the game lacked the realism of the full version.

No never again, not after the issues with 2014 which I had. Though now I can't remember what they were. All I can remeber is that I hated the game and vowed never to buy another.

The improvements look better this year than last imho. I do buy it out of habit....but always end up looking forward to it once I've pre-ordered.

I'll have to have a look later tonight at those clips.

I have found that as the years have passed I tend to play only as my supported team (Leeds) which could make for an interesting experience this year. I expect that if I lose 3 games in a row, ol' Massimo will have me out the door with nothing more than £10,000 compensation in my pocket!

The fact that you make 4 or 5 CCCs for world class strikers who miss, then the opposition with someone like Bayo Akinfenwa up front have one CCC and take it everytime?

I have absolutely battered teams and the scoreline makes it look close, now and again maybe, but in 14 it's embarrassing!

The match engine was fked!

The players and even the way the ball acts are better this year by the looks of it. IIRC even the height and weight of players are taken into account in how they play/react on the pitch.

It looks better - but as always I guess the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

If anybody doesn't want to pay the full price for it FM is always in the Steam January sale at half price....I'm just impatient and each year it's the only game I ever pay full price for.

I actually thought it was quite realistic.

You can have the best team in the world, but you can't win them all:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20150451

Celtic 2 - Barcelona 1 Barcelona 66% possession and 25 shots compared to Celtic's 3, all of which were on target, and gaining 2 goals from them.

It's annoying, but that's football!

Hence my comment "now and again", it happens in every game in '14.

United struggled last year for example, purely because they were not making chances. In FM its easy to make chances, finishing them is ridiculously unrealistic.

I played FM14 a lot - I mean like Luton Town to winning the Champions League 'a lot'... heh heh... I didn't get the same experience.

I think it's easy to think 'this game is set up to make me lose' and put all kind of thoughts into your head. Some results really are just freakish.

I don't think there was a conspiracy against finishing chances.

Beta version is due out tomorrow I think - for those that pre-ordered.

Looking forward to seeing the new UI and see what kind of budget Cellino will give me in the first transfer window. Perhaps I can buy a couple of wingers!!

I'm looking forward to seeing how the York City squad has been rated, this is the first time in three years that I've not done it.

Cheers - spent most of Friday playing a game as Leeds whilst working from home that day. I like the new interface and some of the new features. Took a little getting used to but overall a good little step forward. Some things that hopefully are just the Beta version glitches, like the number of yellow and red cards - which is ridiculous. Also, the animation/graphics on match day seem to depict all championship stadiums as rusting hulks in eastern bloc housing developments. Surely it wouldn't have taken too long to get an accurate representation of the actual stadiums.

So they've got Leeds spot-on then?

Agreed with everything you said there. Why have stadiums that look this way?

A good step forward overall - the kicking from keepers and strikers is far more realistic and varying between players.
