Will there be any kind of structure to the multiplayer similar to iracing ie safety rating, divisions, tournaments etc.?

Is it just lobbies for people to do what they want with or are there other modes?

....Wheel compatibility stuff...
Sincerely many thanks for taking the time to reply, I do appreciate it. It feels like there's a lot to this situation, potentially with Sony / Logitech chiefly and the consumer is the one left in the mire. If only Thrustmaster wheels are offered, I'm out. I neither want a cheapo non-force wheel or another £300+ investment in a wheel to play a game (Thrustmaster's only options). Driving games are not the same on a pad, either.

Fingers crossed something changes and we get positive news soon smile
Agree on all points, it would be a shame if things between Sony/Logitech weren't resolved.

I love it when a dev comes to the forums to answer questions!
No worries - it's nice to chat to car nuts (of which I am one – Lotus fan, through and through) that want to know more about this ace thing we're making.

Right now, though, I'm eating dinner and watching The Apprentice, and then I probably need to go to bed. But if you don't hear from me again tonight, I'll be back in the morning. Boom!

Last I heard was that Logitech were pulling out of the console peripheral market and so weren't willing to pay the licensing costs associated to make their older hardware compatible on the new console.

Sorry, won't be buying this game until my Logitech G27 works with a Ps4 or Xbox one No way am I buying another expensive wheel...

Smells of some corporate deal all this stuff about a chip needed.

A real shame, pretty sure I won't be the only one

Very much looking forward to this game. I think it could be the Gran Turismo of the next generation. I bought a PS4 thinking GT6 would be a launch title (possibly a bit of wishful thinking), but Polyphony seems to have their head stuck up too far. This seems to be far, far superior in every regard to what I'd even imagine GT7 will be.

Wish I could afford a PC and 4K monitor to utilize the game's full potential. I was actually planning on getting a "proper" gaming PC, but I ended up buying an Alfa Spider, instead!

Thanks PJD for your input on here, I actually went out and bought a PS4 two weeks ago for this and GTA on the next gen (dont tell the missus). Going to pre-order the Limited Edition this week.

I put in hours (ok weeks/months) of hours playing Forza 4, obviously racing but doing alot of tuning and painting. Noticed you mentioned skins, is this something anyone will be able to do?

Loving to old open wheels and nearly wet myself when I saw the Zakspeed.

With regard DLC car packs are we just going to be inundated with modern crap or are we going to be treated to some real classics. Would love to take a TWR XJS around Mount Panorama against Holdens or a Rover SD1 around Brands against Dolomites and Capris.

I am yet to find a racing sim that has the feel of GP Legends. There are many that looks much much better and have better track accuracy but it still has something special in the physics space that I have not seen improved on. I think iRacing is probably the best at the moment on that front, but I find it mixed in terms of car physics.
I haven't raced sims SINCE GP Legends, haven't really followed that world at all. This could tempt me back in, definitely, but it'd be disappointing if the physics/feel couldn't match GPL, a game that came out in 1998! I have to say this looks beautiful though, and the 70's touring cars alone sells it for me - you can keep your Veyrons if I can have a Grp5 BMW 320i round Spa or Brands ;-)

.... and all our content is available from the first time you play the game (notwithstanding the Microsoft / Sony requirements to allow gameplay off a partial download).
Sorry to cut your post up but could you clarify this line please? I absolutely hate it when adter you've bought a game you are then required to spend out time and time again in order to use it fully..

Or have I read it wrong?

Regardless, this has convinced me to buy a ps4..

If this works properly, this could be a a massive reason to buy an Oculus.

Have you tried Assetto Corsa? If so, can I tempt you into a comparison with Project Cars?

Also, is it likely to be actually playable with a keyboard?
I actually haven't tried Assetto Corsa. I'm generally a console player (my brain says "consoles = play, computers = work"), and a Mac user. I do have vague plans for an epic man cave home office at some point in the future, though. Perhaps that'll be the time I set myself up with a dedicated PC-based sim-rig desk.

Plenty of the team have, though. And they're confident that Project CARS is going to do well in head-to-head comparisons.

And yeah, you can play it with a keyboard. Probably not the best way to play it, but the option's there if you want it!

Is the force feedback equal on all the wheels, I've read places that certain games feel better on certain wheels, for example, gt6 is supposed to feel more realistic on the dfgt then a t500rs despite both being official gt wheels.

A feature I think is lacking these days from games is LAN support, it's almost always easier than online if everyone is already round at your place. Will Project Cars have this feature? How about dedicated servers?
I've checked with the team, and yep, we'll have dedicated servers.

And we'll support LAN play, too, so long as your router can see out to authenticate with Steam. So you'd connect all your machines to your switch, and the switch to the router, and it should all work. Happy days.

Initial multiplayer is going to be closer to 'standard' multiplayer than to iRacing. But we do have plans to expand and improve it over time. It depends very much on public reaction, and whether there's hunger for it, and so on.

I'm playing it on an ageing i7 with a GTX 760 and it's looking damn good here and smooth.

Certainly not going to be inundated with just modern stuff, no siree. We've got some very cool cars planned. Our Vehicle Team are proper petrolheads, and they know their motors. As I said in a previous comment – we don't have all the cars; we have the right cars (and still quite a lot of them!). We're confident there'll be something for everyone when it comes to launch content and future DLC – whether you like modern road cars, historics, current-day racers, or 'key' vehicles from the annals of motorsport.

I think that this means that all cars and tracks are available from the start,so no grind to get cash for all the good toys...this has been stated before by pCars, but ,at least on the XBone, you can start playing when only x% installed,so in THAT situation, not everything will be available, but that's only when installing

apologies if im talking carp smile
