Hello again!

Another question, would it be possible to have somebody from gt planet to have a hands on comparison between this fame and Gran Turismo?

It would be lovely to see how it compares, or when will the proper reviews be done and released?

I so want this game to be good but the last few times I have been excited about a game (gt5 and gt6). I thought they were a big let down!

If this game is as good as it sounds it deserves to take all the Gran Turismo fans, as the creator of that game(can't be arsed to google his name) has taken his eye off the ball do much, I mean the last version you could drive on the moon wtf???.

Going to save my pennies now for a wheel for the ps4 and a racing seat!
Where do you live? If it's in or near London, come to the office and play for yourself. We'll even make you a cup of coffee.
You know what, if I lived in London I would love to and I'd even make the brew to say thanks, that's a really kind offer though!

I really do hope you guys stick to the November launch date. One because it's released a few days ahead of my birthday but more importantly I'm already at the point where I want to chuck Driveclub in the bin. Had it the best part of a week now and have noted the following:
a) I've been able to get online ONCE for about 10 minutes in the 6 or so hours I've played;
b) The physics of the cars cornering is just awful, wanna go round a hairpin at 70mph in a hot hatch, no probs!;
c) The tracks are very limited;
d) All cars seem to be able to outaccelerate you at the start, regardless of whether you're running the fastest accelerating car in the group;
e) The range of cars is very limited too (I don't count having an M135/M235 & A45 AMG/CLA45 AMG as four options in a class as performance wise there's nothing between the cars in each pair;
f) Sound is pretty annoying - especially the Marussia
g) If another AI car ploughs into the back of you, you get points taken OFF you as if it were your fault & if they hit you really hard the penalty slows your car down for a few seconds.... on and on.

On the plus side, I like the drivers cockpit view and it does look good scenery wise.

(NB: so I've had a pretty rotten day which reflects a little in the above - I'm not normally such a grumpy arse but understandable when you move from a job you did like but were frustrated with management to a job you don't like with the same frustrating management!!)

I got Driveclub Friday and sold it today, utterly dreadful game.

All of your points are correct. I also think it's a shambles that they didn't hold up their promise of the free PS+ version on release day. Their excuse was that they didn't want to overload the servers? Well a lot of good that did. I played a solid 10 hours of the game over the weekend and early this week and didn't get online once. Not once.

My feeling is that they knew that releasing a free version - essentially a free demo that ALL games should have - would negatively impact their sales. They knew the game wasn't up to the hype. What they spent the last year doing with it is beyond me.

- Online game with no working online.
- Mediocre gameplay, content and (IMO) graphics despite an entire YEAR to work on them.
- Lazy game structure, basic menus, very few options.
- Pay extra for bonus cars, that you can'u use online because it's broke, and you can't use in career because you haven't got enough XP.
- Retarded AI. Literally insanely bad. Smash and crash gameplay with no benefits.

Anyway, going off on a bit of a tangent there lol..

If Project CARS delivers on its promises, I think it could be the best racing game in years. Hopes are very high, guys.

Well he's far from the only bloody one. It still feels very floaty to me, not much connection between the wheel, tyres and road. Dare I say, much like Shift.

All IMHO of course, looks like your set for a hit however it feels.

This guys putting in some serious overtime here!

I'll probably be getting this on the PC. I have a PS4, but also a G25 and I can't be chewed with simulators on a pad. Not when I've been so spoilt by the likes of GT, Race 07 and Assetto Corsa (in that order)

No questions, I just want to say - Please make this game good as I am relying on it...

As the chap above I am already sick of Driveclub - going to eBay it today.

Hopefully I dont have to eBay pCARs a week after purchase - although Im going to have to eBay a leg and possibly an arm just so I can afford a steering wheel for the damn PS4 (already have a stand and chair, so will have to buy one).

....Wheel compatibility stuff...
Sincerely many thanks for taking the time to reply, I do appreciate it. It feels like there's a lot to this situation, potentially with Sony / Logitech chiefly and the consumer is the one left in the mire. If only Thrustmaster wheels are offered, I'm out. I neither want a cheapo non-force wheel or another £300+ investment in a wheel to play a game (Thrustmaster's only options). Driving games are not the same on a pad, either.

Fingers crossed something changes and we get positive news soon smile
Agree on all points, it would be a shame if things between Sony/Logitech weren't resolved.
It would appear Sony have signed an exclusive deal with Thrustmaster, even supporting wheels built before PS4 release (putting to bed any "security chip / designed for PS4" stories.)

It's a shame, as many are not buying PS4, never mind Project CARS, because of this.

http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2014/05...

….over 25 thousand potential purchasers - that's a lot of revenue to turn your back on.

Frankly, it would be nice for Sony to state the situation - i.e. Thrustmaster have a deal for X months / years / forever etc, instead of the silence they are giving the requests at present.
Yup, I signed that petition months ago and to the best of my knowledge, despite it being the most popular thread on their suggestions site, Sony still haven't replied. Many people are really annoyed.

HOWEVER - I think I've found a cheap answer. The "Titan One" USB dongle allows you to use any wheel with the PS4. It requires a DS4 to be connected (to get round the security chip thing) as well as a PC (for what reason I'm not overly sure, config I think), but with that done, the wheel will perform normally. A Force Feedback support upgrade is promised imminently. I'm going to give one a try as this could be something of a saviour giving Sony's head-in-the-sand stance.

I'm really looking forward to this game. So much so that I have pre-ordered the Limited Edition on PS4 and have also pre-ordered the Thrustmaster T300RS steering wheel. The T300RS is said to be released at the start of October according to Amazon, so we shall see when it arrives.

I echo the wish for Thruxton to be in the game, along with Knockhill. They are both fantastic tracks and I've not been able to digitally race on them since the TOCA days. Perhaps have a word with Codemasters and get the digital map info for these tracks off them? ;o)

It is excellent that Brands Hatch is included though, I'm very pleased about that.

Cheers,
Steve

Oooooohhhh, does someone need a coffee ;-) (Joking incase you didn't get that!). The comment was made because a number people on here have expressed this as a show stopped to buying P-Cars. The dev team have been great at responding here and stating it's an issue for them too.... as such, I think it's a pertinent comment to make here and provide some potential good news for all.

I did open a separate thread on this 2 days ago, from a general point of view, but many won't have seen it ;-) Wooosaaaaaaah!

Calm down poppet, the wheel compatibility issue is a problem for a lot of people looking to purchase Project Cars.

If you don't like reading about the issues you can scroll on past rather than getting your panties in a twist.

Yeah, we've got a pile of stuff coming, so no worries on this front. We've got plans for at least two years' worth of stuff, ranging from new cars of all sorts, to new tracks and variants, to new motorsport disciplines, and more. We've taken community support deadly seriously in the years prior to launch, and it's something we're mirroring post-release. I can't go into specifics just now, but we reckon you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Reading this makes me glad I didn't buy DriveClub. I wanted to wait to hear what people were saying about it. I also wasn't too impressed on the whole "social media" focus of the game, as I generally don't do online on racing games. I may be a part of the "social media generation", but I'm one of those who still mourns the loss of split-screen multiplayer. I hate how I can't even play against my own real-life friends and family, without each of them having their own PS4, TV, etc. I liked it when I could play against my friends in the same room.
