Just discovered the thread and game likewise. In process of figuring it out, entered late on leg 2 VOR Lisbon to Cape Town, so dumped in the middle of the Atlantic, way off the shortest route and not far enough west to take the quicker down the Brazilian coast long way round. Currently plugging windward slowly gaining fleet position from nowhere, I'm Oldpharte if you see me.

I see the actual current leader on the real leg 2 is shown on the map. Is that his position or is he playing too? So confusing.

I’ve found I only log on once a day with the current update, it just doesn’t work for me.

Yep, CBA to log on frequently to nudge things about trying to take advantage of every shift. Log on first thing, set it up for the day, give it the best guess and then check the damage in the evening, another adjustment for overnight etc.

Luckily on the RORC Transat made the same routing decision as the current line honours leader in the real race, which tactically was nice, just not got the boatspeed downwind.
