Apologies gents, but this is going to be rant as I am raging so bad right now and this helps me cool down.
But seriously, what is up with this game! EA have taken my money year in year out since Fifa 97, and for the last few years the game hasn't improved. It started with the terrible tactical defending introduced a few years back now, and since then, they've made the game worse and worse year on year. What's most frustrating is despite all the games flaws, I know full well next year they will get my money too, and no doubt will be worse again. This is the main game I play, and would consider myself pretty good. On ultimate team my record is 137 wins - 2 draws - 7 losses. Out of those 7 losses, only one I can genuinely accept loosing to a better player, but the rest is all down to BS rubbish with the game.
The shooting for one is so ridiculous. It either skies the ball over the bar or miles wide, or straight at the goal keeper. How can tapping the shoot the button on an open goal hit it over the bar! And this is with word class players like Rooney. And it's not a one off either, this is every game. Having a player like Hazard cutting in and doing a curled finesse shot is just spooned and goes straight into the keepers arms, or into the corner flag. 1 in 10 might actually be a cracker and go top corner. This is one of the worlds best who does this thing often, so why is not like in the game. There's a reason 300k+ coins but no real benefit over the likes of some with half his qualities.
Crossing is very similar. Heading and crossing has never been my strong point, but I can usually pick off the odd goal from it. But now crossing is so stupid. Every single time the ball goes so far past the back post it's unbelievable. You tap the button for a millisecond and it's gone to the back post. In the event a player does got on the end of it which is a miracle, it is impossible to get a header on target. You can have the tallest strongest player on the game against a weak midget, but the way they tug and pull you makes them spoon the header. Even unchallenged headers lead to off target shots.
They said in this game the computer AI was smarter with better runs from your team mates, but they constantly run in front of you players when taking shots. Stand in offside position when there is no need, and most importantly, don't support you when you are attacking, but the moment you can see you are about the loose the ball, the CM's and CDM's stream forward. No matter what tactics I apply wanting a CDM not to join in with an attack he can't help himself sprinting forward, but staying marked so is useless anyway.
Defending is just unbelievable frustrating and makes me so mad.
Changing players follows no logic. Even when you pass the ball to your players, sometimes it doesn't even swap to them and just hits their shins and bounces off them. You can never get the player who is clearly in the best position to make a tackle.
They always have world class keepers who save unstoppable shots. My keep is a complete spoon and fails to save the easiest of shots, or when does, hits a knee roller shot back out for a tap in. I never get the same sort of luck with goalies, and this is every game.
The whole commentary and trying to make it seem like you watching the game on a highlights show. Who wants to see the referee run across the pitch for 20 seconds to NOT book a player. And the fouls are just as stupid. They run into your AI teammate off the ball and it's a booking for me? Seriously.
Offside are just wrong. You can stop the run with your player, go and touch with a player who was onside, then pass it back to the original offside player and is now on and it blows and gives the original offside for a player who didn't interfere with play. How have they not picked that up as a major bug. It's just wrong and doesn't work.
Still got the rubbish global scouting network on career mode. Terrible last year, kept it exactly the same this year despite so much feedback wanting to see how it was before. Also career is just boring now as the AI are so predicable, but yet impossible to play against. They are always 10 steps ahead of you, and can punch you left right and centre and no free kick, the moment you shoulder badge them it's a booking.
And the servers. Well let's not get started on that.
I really don't know why I bother. There are countless people who go through the same infuriating rubbish as me, and would just love these issues to be ironed out. I would love to think the amount of money EA make off Fifa alone, they would invest and make it better. Sadly, again people like me can't help buying it year in year out. They must laugh and rub their hands together knowing they can just put out a piece of s
t and mugs like me will come running.

For me the frustration comes from the majority of the game actually being very good, so that when the stupid flaws you've mentioned appear they show up even more.
My attitude this year is to accept the flaws (defenders stepping out when the AI plays a through ball for example) as part of football - how many times have you watched a match where something unbelievable/stupid has happened and accepted it as part of the game, whereas if that if it had been on Fifa you would have rage-quit.
There are still so many areas I would love to see improved, but fundamentally I think it's a very good game and probably the most realistic/enjoyable of recent years.

Take a shot, their keeper saves and the ball is going out for a corner, but no, one of your players runs towards the ball, and no matter what you do he will chest it or knock it out of play - gaol kick.
Crossing - used to be able to score a lot in '14 now every cross in cleared.
FUT - I can barely beat poor professional teams, yet in normal single player I can easily beat them 4 or 5 nil.
Tackling - all their players are like billy whizz, speed down the wing in total control of the ball jink all the way in to the box and score, normally in the 100th minute of the game, and you can't get close enough to tackle them.

I refuse to partake in any EA product now due to thier blatant ripping off of gamers - Fifa / Tiger woods Cases in point I've stopped it the '14 versions
I picked up a copy of PES '14 cheaply the other day to give it a go, its not bad, its not as polished or thorough as fifa and there isn't anything like the depth to it that Fifa has with the range of different modes etc....
I thought fifa 14 was the most realistic to date in terms of the dynamics of the players - no more ridiculous stop in mid air and turn around and tackle etc...it felt more like human capabilities rather than cyber human but I just can't get over the marketing and cost add ons..
