Hi last night Xbox stopped reading disc's, just wondering if there's any fixes or does it need to go back?

Just one disk or different ones? Sometimes mine brain farts and I have load another disk in and then swap back or completely power off at the wall to get it reading disks again.

All discs and have tried lots of times, it worked once but not now
when I googled it, it seems quite a common fault with the drives and they're replacing consoles

Op, my brand new xbone did this after I installed media player preview. You put a disc in, it spins up but doesn't read it, after a minute you just get "insert disc". Theres a software bug I'm sure, its seeing the USB stick as the drive and wont read the discs. Removing the USB stick still doesn't fix it. I had to remove the USB, and do a full reboot (mains out job).

Worth a go before you ship it back to MS.

Do yourself a favour: If you do need to send it back, skip the online nonsense and give them a call on either 0207 365 9792 or 0800 587 1182.

My Xbone broke within a month of buying it on Day One, and the online process fell apart so I rang them instead. You could not find a more helpful bunch of people to deal with, they rang me back as well to make sure I'd got the new console and then a week later to make sure it was still okay, all unprompted. Best customer service ever, massively impressed.

Not experienced the same issue, but my XBox One occasionally squeaks! It doesn't happen every often, but when it does, the squeak is so high pitched you can hear it over any television programme or game. It's quite annoying ...

It sounds as though there is a problem with a fan inside the unit. If I put my ear against the ridged right hand side of the machine, you can hear it a lot clearer. I've also tried flipping the console upside down (whilst off), full power off, and a gentle 'nudge' with no success. That said, it'll occasionally just stop squeaking!

I won't bother sending it back unless it gets more frequent and/or noisier ...

Exactly my experience too.

It was absolutely first class service, and everything was really well organised.

10/10 to Microsoft for this.
