Finally caved in and ordered a XBone bundle from Game (Halo MCC, COD advanced and Forza 5), alas the bundle with these and Titanfall for just a tenner more is out of stock. Anyway, I digress.

What titles are considered 'must haves' for it? Or is it just a case of horses for courses?

Not much yet. Far Cry 4 looks impressive but it's not quite out yet.

The crew also looks interesting when it arrives.

Forza Horizon 2 is pretty much essential.

To be honest that little lot will keep you going for awhile smile

Destiny is very marmite so read up about that.

There are quite a few good "smaller" games like child of light, super time force and valiant heart. So check those out as well.

Ryse is not that great a game but gfx are top notch. Ass creed unity sounds like a very impressive game but struggling a little for frame rate and has had a bad launch.

Have you got a kinnect? Xbox fitness could be something you get in to if you like that sort of thing and have a bit of space.

Titanfall is very good. That and Ryse are the graphical tour de force of this generation so far, both very enjoyable but Titanfall also boasts excellent gameplay to go with it's pretty looks.

Make sure you download Child Of Light, as it's fking brilliant. One of the best games I've played in recent years. If your Xbox is arriving soon, get it plugged in and download Volgarr The Viking from LIVE whilst it's free (there is a suggest it'll revert to being a paid download soon) as it's a fantastic old Ghouls 'n' Ghosts style platformer.

I've got Sunset Overdrive sitting on my living room floor waiting to be played, maybe I'll have a go later.

I'm enjoying Halo 1 with the new graphics as part of the anniversary edition! First halo I ever played was 3 on the 360.

+1 one is the best open world racing game on any console (one area where the Xbox has the upper hand over the PS4, two first class racing games, the other is quite possibly the best open world game full stop.

Dragon Age Inquisition comes out on Friday and is wonderful. Looks best on PC but looks pretty damn good on XB1

Thanks all.

Apparently it was delivered today - so will get it plugged in and stuff downloaded etc.

Titanfall sounds like a must buy, as is Forza Horizon.

Anyone got/played/recommend Wolfenstein New Order or are there superior old skool shoot-em-ups among the other titles?

Assassins Creed Unity appeals as I was hopelessly addicted to Black Flag (on PC - settings set to max AAARRRRRRR hehe ) but I gather it's very buggy?

Don't know about wolfenstein...

I'd highly recommend watching "quick looks" by Giantbomb.com. They tend to last around an hour but they discuss each game and go through good bits and bad bits plus you can see how it plays - these are uploaded in avguely chronological order of release date:-

Wolfenstein's a great laugh! I think there'll be a Black Friday or whatever sale from Microsoft and something like Wolfenstein will be in that I'm sure so I'd wait for it then. It;s a proper old school action game but with some nice touches. I'm just getting around to completing it now, very enjoyable all round!

I liked Titanfall, but it's been replaced by Destiny.
Wolfenstien was fun, but it's not something I'm likely to play again.

Is a 'goor' review somewhere between good and poor wink

Mrs McDonald picked up Far Cry 4 for me today. I am looking forward to the kids going to bed as its meant to be better than far cry 3, which was my favourite game last year.

Comments regarding titanfall and destiny are interesting. For me destiny is all about grinding to get the best weapons and armour. In Titanfall a newbie in their very first match can take out a gen10 level 50. (i know as it frequently happened to me) IMO Its better because if you lose its down to you, not how long you can afford to spend waiting by a cave. As far as Im concerned its easily the best Xbox one game to date.

GTAV. It looks like it was made for this generation. Utterly stunning. There's no going back to the original now!

  • cough* good....mumble...mumble :-)
Titanfall is a good game - but a lot of people have moved on so there aren't masses of people. I'm sure you can get games but you'll be playing against people that have played it a LOT already.

I also disagree slightly on the comparison with destiny. The multiplayer in TF is a *bit* easier if you have levelled up your character (and titan) and unlocked some of the later weapons....however the main MP mode in destiny is very similar. Any massive differences due to level have been removed, but you do get a slight advantage by having unlocked extra perks (double jump, an extra grenade or whatever).

Quite a few hardened MP'ers in Destiny reckon the blue Shingen E gun is still the best AR, and random blue fusion rifles can also be the best.

That said a lot of Destiny is playing the same/similar content several times to try and get new gear and level it up.
