Looks pretty, handling is typical Forza.

Indy race could be interesting but will be a crashfest on line. Rain effect was good but think Project Cars does it better - did completely understeer off through one of the puddles which felt real enough though...

Don't get the mod card thing - can't see what it adds to the game at all. Prize spins etc is very Horizon

Having said all that will no doubt buy it anyway...

Went through the races last night and unlocked the multiplayer leaderboards. Rain was really good, should make some interesting races biggrin . Liking the 24 car grids too.

Now, this might be just me being a numpty, but what's the trick to getting the Indycar off the line properly? Mine just bogs down completely, slowly chugs up to speed and by the time I've got going about 15 seconds later the other cars are way ahead.

On my village internet I've managed to do the first Qualifying race... don't like this setup if this is what the career is. Being dumped in the middle of the field and to 'qualify' you have to finish top 3, wtf is this?! It means you have to set the drivatars below your standard in order to the make the 10 overtakes required in just 3 laps which I managed against the professional difficulty, couldn't get above 5th with them set to unbeatable.

There should be qualifying laps. That way you can set drivatars to match you for the race.

Why does the car seem less grippy when the tyres are warmer? First lap I can nail with no sliding, then its Bambi on ice ~(playing with no assists except normal steering as sim just doesn't work with a controller, manual with clutch (switch with the handbrake and just press A with B/X)). Using the S2000 CR.

On the Indy car,I just masbed the throttle and went. It seemed to stick like glue though.
Not sure about the Mod thing,I suppose it's tuning for numpties(like me!smile)as long as the PI is affected appropriately, then I guess its ok,but even I will prefer to try to tune.
Looking really pretty,I just wish that they bring back F class.

Caved in and bought the ultimate edition last night.

The S2000 felt okay and im glad it wasnt just me with the grip thing, I felt it too. You should have tried the RX7 it was much worse for it!! It was really boaty, fishtailed, and was slow on top of that.

Awful thing, so much so I quit and changed to the S2k.

Worth buying an XB1 for?

Haven't played Forza since 4 on the 360. Been tempted to get an XB1 for H2 and 6.

Mainly into the online drifting.

The physics seemed okay for drifting from what I remember.

I dont think you will be doing backwards entries anytime soon though hehe the cars feel a lot more weighty than previous forza's they seem to have more momentum when in a slide.

Ill let you know more once ive had a chance to play the full game, as drifting is something im big on too.

The steering felt a lot heavier to me than on F5, but not worse for it. Admittedly that was with a controller as I couldn't be arsed to plug the wheel & pedals in for a quick demo, but certainly it felt good.

The sliding and lack of grip in the wet was fun, and felt pretty close to real life. Especially when you get on the grass, then there's no chance you're stopping!

Very impressed, cars arent as forgiving as previous Forzas, at least the RX7 I did a few races in isnt with the assists off, but neither is it as frustrating and daft as Project Cars

Exactly how I fell about it and project cars.

Hitting the pool's of water and aquaplaning is a great addition to the game and going to make the lines you take different. I for one am looking forward this this.

What dates it out? I seen next week mentioned, the 15th and 18th

Correct, 18th for UK unless you get the Ultimate edition, then it's the 10th.

Now that its gone gold, I wasn't sure sure how to tell whether the placeholders or the game files are downloaded on your Xbox other than it being in the download queue for aaages because its 44GB, but I haven't noticed mine downloading. After a bit of googling, if you uninstall the game from your games list and then reinstall, it should download the whole thing ready. I've done that and so far its taken half an hour to get to 5% on my fibre broadband, so I'm pretty sure this is the whole thing downloading now hehe

I'm trying to decide which version to buy. I'd like the ultimate edition but I'm finding the £80 price hard to accept.

There are mechanisms you can use to buy it in USD using pre-paid cards, I've done this and it cost around £65 which is a bit more palatable. (It is $99 USD).

Have a read through http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72296...

Basically, you buy US$ prepaid cards from amazon.com or target.com (you'll need to make a fake US address but they do come by email so it seems to be ok), however I last used pcgamesupply.com to get the codes - they also take paypal, then use inprivate/incognito mode in your browser to log in with your UK account on the US store.xbox.com store, apply the gift card codes and buy the game. It will appear in your UK library and begin downloading at this point if your xbox is on "always on" mode.

Is the extra hassle worth ~£15? only you can say for sure.
