Honestly is this the best Turn 10 can come up with? Graphically its as sterile, flat and uninteresting as F5 but with more shine / definition. They honestly don't even bother trying do they. Its the same game you have been buying 5 times before but with less content, more DLC and more than likely micro transactions galore! Still everyone will rush out to buy it then go on about how amazing it is (but then the same happens with other worn out franchises like Halo / Fifa / COD). Maybe I am just old and cynical but this game can't even do what other racing games have done since 2000 on the 360 / ps3. Proper crash damage, dynamic weather, day night cycle, deformable barriers are all things that have been available in other racing games years ago but still seemingly out of reach for Forza 6.

I have zero interest in buying a slightly more polished version of Forza 5 – just seems a little tragic that the XBO's biggest racing title is so lack lustre! But when XBO can be characterised by endless re runs of tired franchises, £20 "indie" games from companies like Ubisoft and Activision or selling your old 360 games back to you so you can replay them on the XBO then its hardly surprising that this is the best they can come up with. People have been subscribing to this rubbish for 2 plus years now so why try harder?

Also whats the deal with 3 versions of the game, "Standard", "Not so standard", and the "honestly you have to be stupid to spend £80 on this game" edition. Do people seriously want to be separated from their money so much that they are willing to pay a premium to play a game a few days earlier than everyone else?

Free to play , micro transactions, on disc DLC, pre order bonuses etc are ruining gaming – yet everyone is seemingly happy to chow down on a st sandwich and then ask for more.

T10 showed that they wanted to ream the consumer for every penny with F5, I suspect with F6 hits there shelves proper it will be clear that they are back with more lube and a bigger strap on!

There is 25 tracks and 450 cars in the "standard" game, so that is a full game by my book. You don't have to buy the extra DLC if you don't want it!

Also if you buy the ultimate edition you get an extra 40+ cars, so you're not just paying to get it early.

Next you'll tell me there is better racing games on the PS4 right? You must be kidding!

From what I've seen plenty of people are happy with the game, if you don't like it don't buy it, simple!

There are mechanisms you can use to buy it in USD using pre-paid cards, I've done this and it cost around £65 which is a bit more palatable. (It is $99 USD).

Have a read through http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72296...

Basically, you buy US$ prepaid cards from amazon.com or target.com (you'll need to make a fake US address but they do come by email so it seems to be ok), however I last used pcgamesupply.com to get the codes - they also take paypal, then use inprivate/incognito mode in your browser to log in with your UK account on the US store.xbox.com store, apply the gift card codes and buy the game. It will appear in your UK library and begin downloading at this point if your xbox is on "always on" mode.

Is the extra hassle worth ~£15? only you can say for sure.
I've got to the point where I have $100 in my account but when I'm pre ordering the game it's asking for billing information and doesn't seem to have the option to use the $100?

If I update my billing info will it give me the option to choose the payment method later?

Thanks

This game is making me want to punch Richard Hammond in the face, can I turn him off like you can with Ben Collins (in Project Cars)?

Idris Elba is a good addition though smile

Someones sensitive - guess you have bought the ultimate edition? biggrin

I don't have a PS4, but F6 is a pretty lack lustre game from the demo.

Your right we don't have to buy the DLC but the fact that people are essentially happy to buy the game twice for content that should be rights be included in the standard game is mind blowing. They are essentially taking a game, carving bits out of it and then charging you more again for those elements. Total nonsense.

Decided I need a wheel to properly enjoy this as I got bored of 5 pretty sharpish.

Had the £80 official 360 force feedback wheel which was exceptional for the price but the motor burned out after a couple of years.

Seems there are are only 2, at present, force feedback options both of which are over £200. Madcatz offering sounds a bit ropey and the Thrustamster one is plagued with bad reviews of it burning out after not much use.

A little googling reveals Logitech are releasing the G920 in October, a few people on forums seem to think it has dated internals, but Logitech stuff always seems to last well and it comes with a clutch pedal as standard which the other 2 don't - although the shifter is another £45 - on top of the £300 starting price, it is pretty eye watering.

Anyone else currently undecided?

ETA - was also having a similar chat with a mate, with Xbox One shifting to Windows 10, surely hardware will be interchangeable between PC and Xbox? I guess MS will somehow block the One from installing drivers for old PC wheels.

I found F5 a bit meh, I wanted to like it, but as the angry moustache man says, it's all a bit samey and no real innovation.

Start with a crappy car, get a better one, customise that car, do a race, then do that race again but with more laps etc etc.

I'll get the demo and see if it ignites any interest.

I played project cars for an hour whilst downloading forza.

As much as project cars cost me a wireless controller through a wall interface it plays so much better.

I'm happy with Pcars in its current guise. Forza looks almost cartoon like.

I still play Project Cars but the one thing Forza just does better is the online stuff.

Can very rarely find a decent lobby on PCars but you'll find one pretty quickly on Forza and doubt this one will be any different... Looking forward to some Pistonhead championships again!

I can't play project cars, the steering is too slow and I get half way around a lap of the brands indy circuit in the ginetta and the game crashes every time, the game is a POS.

To add:
So far they are both doing voice overs and intros........Hammond is even more annoying than he is on TV.

Good that Top Gear is still a part of the game though, great to still have the TG Test Track
