Hitman series introduced me to Ave Maria. Now one of my most favourite classical pieces.

The radio music in Fallout 3 really enhanced the experience for me - not something I'd listen to on its own, but fitted really well with the world that the game pulled you into.

Bioshock and Skyrim are amazing too.

Take it no one listens to Classical FM in here? They did a show on a Saturday night on VG music, and Bioshock, Skyrim and Zelda was on it.

Game music has become incredibly sophisticated, some of it is genuinely classical in scale and execution.

Olof Gustafsson is the master of all AMiGA game music, especially his work on Pinball Dreams/Fantasies/Illusions.

On Dreams he had something like 300kb of disk space for all four tables including effects and how he managed to create such quality work in that small space is amazing.

Pinball Fantasies - Party Land

Best soundtrack I've ever heard on a game was Dungeon Explorer on the PC Engine console circa 1989. Suited the game absolutely perfecly.

Also the original Sega Outrun music is worth a mention. So good Infact I used to have some fantastic revamped versions on a CD in the car!
