Of all the COD games COD4 is my favorite, it's just so right but getting a game online is a rare thing these days. That was until my old X-Box died and I bought a new one. I used to have a map pack on my old one but forgot to download it to my new one.

Since buying the new X-Box I've been playing hardcore on COD4 every night, that was until last night when I downloaded the map pack, after that not a single lobby was available. Looks like there are no lobbies for people with the extra maps then frown

Without the map pack I'm finding plenty of team deathmatch games and quite a few hardcore.

After my 1st post I thought I'd have a go. some how it's now lost all my achievements and busted me back down to muppet level.

I picked it up last year on PS3 for £3 mainly to do the campaign again after playing it to death online when it was first released. I couldn't get online with it at all for some reason.
It is one of the best if not the best of the series, the sniper mission at Pripyat being very probably the best sequence of a game I've ever played.

Agreed, the sniper and running missions through Pripyat are easily some of the best I've played for any game. Ever.

God i remember there used to be loads of us on cod4 nightly for ps3 back in the day.

Crossfire was my favourite map from it all.

This is one of the best games I've ever played. I remember spending hours on the campaign paining through on veteran. Did the same on MW2 and MW3 as well.

The map packs on modern warfare were the best. Really not liking the new ones. Ghosts and Advanced Warfare were crap.

Oh yeah, COD4 was awesome. I just looked up the Maps you guys mentioned, really great!

I loved 'Pipeline' myself. Nothing better than climbing that massive ladder and sniping away...

Greatest game ever. My very first experience of a multiplayer game, I plugged it into the router in the living room while I was meant to be at home 'ill' from school.

I spent hours upon hours on this when I should have been doing my homework throughout school.

Literally all of the maps were brilliant. Crash, backlot, pipeline, shipment (was chaos), vacant, ambush, bloc, overgrown, downpour.

God I miss those days.

I'm on MW2 STILL. Personally MW1 is a very close second place but I'm always up for a game if anyone is still on them.

I liked the storytelling but hated the play mechanics. Crawling forwards, getting shot by someone you didn't see/thought was on your side and getting blown up by a grenade was no fun (and endlessly respawning enemies are one of the great game design sins, especially in a supposedly realistic game). Didn't mind it on normal but spent an hour trying to get past the last bit of Hunted on Veteran, rage quit and never played it again

Was it actually possible to kill the guy (forget his name now) who arrives in the car and you have to snipe him from about 2 miles away from the top of the tower block? I never managed to do it, only injure him then he ran away.

Used to spend my entire life on COD4 PS3 multiplayer back in the day. Crossfire and Overgrown were my favourite maps. Crossfire with silenced MP5, dead silence and UAV jammer and Overgrown for the M40(?) sniper - either camped in the broken fronted 2 storey building at the top end of the map looking down the river bed or crouched down behind the bridge at the bottom end of the river bed shooting up. If I got less than 20 kills on a TDM on that map I was doing poorly. hehe

Then the game got infiltrated by hackers and it just died a death. frown

No, you couldn't snipe the 'brother' terrorist. He was part of the plot later I recall.

Yes I recall hackers showing up a couple of times, once when I played it gave me 100,000 experience points for everyone I killed, that and jumping super high. Only happened a handful of times though compared to 1,000's of times I played.

I went digging through my old games last night looking for MW4, couldn't find it but found 'Black Ops" 1 and 2. Not as good. Have MW3 but no one is online frown

No,you only ever shoot his arm off. The mission was a flashback,he was one of the main characters in the story and appears later in the game at present time minus an arm.
