Really enjoying this so far, the free running is a great aspect and I'm getting good at linking 'runs' together.

Haven't been out at night yet....

Yeah - had a few hours on it now. Seems good fun and same as you, starting to be able to plan the runs better.

Night time - hmmmm, been caught out once and it's 'interesting'.

Also had a wee play last night, only for ten mins or so, where you're the zombie - that's good fun as well.

Did you pay for the zombie add on? I read it was being offered free but it had a price in the PS store.

I spent awhile back up in the free running training bit on the roof going back round it a few times, paid off I think

I think the free DLC is only for preorder copies of the boxed game, supplied as codes.

Ah, that'll make sense then, is it worth purchasing?

I'm waiting for the boxed game to arrive. I've got plenty to play through at the moment (Styx: Master Of Shadows and Terraria are occupying a lot of time, and I dare say I might play some more of the Hardline beta). Dying Light is getting very good reviews though and has been a huge sales success so far. It seems the Dead Island team did have a great game in them after all, when they got to make it as they saw fit!

Is this open-world or linear?

Is it possible to kill the stalking night zombies?
Seems like the flares piss them off, but i'm not going out at night because they scare the ste out of me (as i can't kill them).

Hated two of the missions because i had to leg it around the town at night.

But a brilliant game that i find difficult to put down.

I had a look at this on the Xbox Live store. It's gone up from £55 to £65! These prices are ridiculous. I know both Sony and Microsoft want to increase their online sales but they'll never make real inroads with this until they sort the pricing out. If the physical disc were available for this game I suspect there would be very few downloads if the digital copy. Speaking of which, what a clusterfk the situation with the discs is. They've been so scant with the details of what has actually gone wrong - indeed, what the fk has gone wrong there? The code is all certified, available to purchase online, US discs are in print. So what has gone wrong for everyone else?

it was on the ps store for free a week or 2 ago. Managed to DL it even though i don't have the game so that when i do get a copy i will have this to add on. It was priced on release so maybe i got it as a lucky glitch?

Has anyone got it? Is it worth having? Lots of Zombie killing to be done?

I like it actually. I often sit down to have a play for an hour but I'm on it for ages in the end.

I turn off all the lights in the study as well. Dig the soundtrack as well.

Very addictive and easy to pick up.
Believable characters and storyline.

As mentioned above, you can easily lose a few hours in this game.

edited to add:
Oh and yes, there are many zombies to hack and slash.
The gaming engine is able to identify the type of weapon used and how this should affect the zombie. E.g if you have a sharp blade, and kneel when slashing, you will slice a zombie leg off! smile

Got this last night and played about 3-4 hours. Really like this game so far. I feel its the first true current generation game I've played or owned. I think it's really beautiful, at times I just look at the scenery and the music is really good aswell. But fk me that first night mission where you've to run away from the Nightmares is scary, at one point I think I had about 8 after me. I am genuinely afraid of night time which is brilliant. Can't wait to have more time to play this!
