Played episode 2 today; lacks the emotional punch of ep1 (which is understandable) but develops Chloe and Rachel's relationship nicely. Nice complex puzzle when you get pushed on stage! Only wish that Rachel's dad didn't say his final line in the episode - would have made such a better cliffhanger if they kept that revelation secret until the next episode. Another solid instalment; can't wait for the final episode

Yup. The 1 second scene with Rachel's mum hugging Chloe in what looks like a hospital fills me with dread, given there is also a quick shot of a heroin syringe in the trailer too. Hopefully it's all a red herring. Very much looking forward to this

Interesting analysis of the game so far; when he showed that montage of the lets plays I suddenly realized I've watched almost every one of them Just seen that they are releasing Ep3 at the exact same time across the world on Tuesday (not wednesday as originally planned); 5pm UK time. The exact same time I've off to see Star Wars
A fitting end to the story I thought, although I'm damned if I know how to be able to play tabletop with Mikey and/or how to get Rachel to meet her mother like 5% of the players did!. Felt very slow-spaced compared to Ep1 and 2 and if I'm being honest, I think we reached peak BTS in ep2 however Ep3 was still very good. I need to replay it to work out how to get things to happen differently, which I think will probably involve me replaying from the start.
Some thoughts on Episode 3 (I wrote this on another forum but it'll do here):
On the whole, I am conflicted. The episode had seem great moments that genuinely gave me the feels:
- The chat with Rachel in her room
- The rush to the hospital and the scene of her waiting
- The part where Chloe gets beaten up
- Of course the kicker at the end with the mobile ringing after the photobooth shots, that was very well done
However, there are a few notable problems with it. The chief one is mainly the lack of Rachel & Chloe. For me this prequel has been at its best when exploring the relationship between these two. I had high hopes for where this was going after Episode 2, which was excellent in that regard.
However this fell really flat and it was very noticeable. Up until the junkyard scene it had a lot going for it, but removing Rachel for half the episode (and thus the interaction with Chloe) was for me a real misstep.
The other issue stemming from this is that it basically froze everything (whether friends or more), with insufficient variation for either aspect to be confirmed.
There were scenes were I was literally shouting at the screen "KISS HER FOR GOD'S SAKE" as it would have been the natural thing to do, based on the outcomes I had in Episode 2 and if you were trying to comfort your new love. Obviously if it was just friendship then I suspect his would not be an issue for some, but for me it was very jarring.
Finally, the scene with Elliott made no sense whatsoever, and felt largely shoehorned in. That entire scene could have been played out without him being present. In fact, it would have been more effective if it had been done with Rachel, with her discovering the truth about her Dad's actions herself. This would have set up a much more effective Mill scene as well.
As regards to other elements:
- I accepted David's photo, largely from meta gaming his actions in LIS 1 and the fact that Chloe would do it to keep her mum happy
- I hid the truth from Rachel. I agonised over this a bit, but thought about what Rachel needed (a Dad to love and trust) which she herself states. My mum left me when I was very young, and I grew up just with my Dad (my mum was also into drugs and st like that). I a also a father to two girls now, and I would do everything to keep them safe. So having experienced both sides of this I knew the best thing was to hide it, for Rachel's sake. Give her something to cling on to
- Nathan sat with Samantha by the tree at the end, as well as visited her in the hospital. I understand there is quite a lot of variance here
- The ending montage really needed a variation where they are romantically together, it was very ambiguous
- The kicker was needed I think to draw a line under their development. I think it is interesting that Rachel has the same image on her phone that Chloe does. Hmm
I'm glad they made this. I am disappointed they didn't do a better job with Episode 3; however on the whole it's been good. Just needed more of Rachel and Chloe.

Yea tbh I feel much the same way; you really notice Rachel’s absence and the whol Eliot thing, well that escalated quickly! I feel it was an adequate ending/wrap up but do feel it could have been better, evidence by the fact I think Ep2 is much stronger than Ep3.
I’m still hoping that Deck Nine get the nod for another instalment, maybe later in their relationship around the time the stuff with Frank happens. On the other hand, I’d be scared of over-saturation so maybe it’s best to leave everything where it is. Looking forward to the Farewell episode with Max and Chloe in the new year.

That was a nice ending!
Echoing others It could have touched on the more romantic relationships between the two, and also helped show how Rachel and Frank became so close. Also in the mill, what should have been the highlight of the episode (and with the great soundtrack) was over just too quickly
Do fancy playing LiS right now though...
