Life is Strange

I finally purchased last week after receiving a Steam notification that it had been reduced to £1.99
I have only played Ep1 thus far. Started off slow, the controls didn't help making interaction with the game like swimming with mud, and my initial impression of Max was to immediately think, "Meg".
Fortunately, the narrative picks up, helped in large part by the aesthetics and gorgeous musical score. I did notice motifs - butterflies, graffiti - and it sounds like that the game really starts to take off in Ep2.
Obvious nods to Donnie Darko, although is a bit too self-conscious at times.
Good to have a female protaganist, and looking forward to how my choices pan out.

Bit frustrated with PSN this morning!
Went on to download Episode 5 to find that my account is banned. Someone hacked my PSN last week and took £120. I reported it to paypal and PSN and yesterday Paypal refunded me, lovely.
But..... PSN say they haven't yet investigated it and that I have broken T's & C's and they've banned me due to a 'debt' on the account. Of course it's not a debt, it's my money that someone else transferred to my account, It did't get spent and now I've had it back.
Gits.
No episode 5 for me until they sort their act out..

Took a punt on this on Friday by buying ep 1 - which was immediately followed by buying 2-4 and doing the lot over the weekend!
Awesome game and I can't wait to get stuck into ep 5 tonight. Will be sad when I finish it though as it really has been a good experience.
Would really love to see more come from square Enid with a sequel but just can't see how they would do that

I think they (read somewhere) it will be a new story, new people etc...bit like True Detective - which if they can keep the same style of basically a short story then that is all good with meAwesome game and I can't wait to get stuck into ep 5 tonight. Argh. What a choice in the end. I had to go and chose the other one to see, and I am not sure which one I prefer.
I think sacrificing Chloe. It's just so bittersweet, and that kiss has real impact.
i had to sacrifice Arcadia bay.. Otherwise evetything you go through was for nothing!I think sacrificing Chloe. It's just so bittersweet, and that kiss has real impact.
Spoilers below (in case you're reading this on the mobile platform).
I made this choice also; I had told myself before playing the final episode that if I had to choose between Chloe and something else that Chloe would always win out - it's her who is the main character of the game and as you say, everything you've been fighting for. I think the other ending is more poignant but I was selfish and wanted to keep Chloe.
This episode jumped around a lot more than I thought it would; I knew they would use the photo warren took as a way to reset things, but it takes a long time to reach that point. At first when you go back to the very beginning I almost thought it was going to have you replay a condensed version of the game!
In the end this has firmly put itself in my top five games of all time. I know some find it twee and a bit melodramatic but it is a great bit of story telling and the whole game is loaded with symbols and hidden messages that make it feel as its been a labour of love for the developers.

I did the same (saying that I did a second save and swapped choices - which I thought was actually a better ending in truth) and reached the same conclusions as others. It was obvious about the Warren picture...I spurned his advances as well - just left the cafe...which made for a different twist in the dream/surreal/junkyard beat down of Max by Chloe - there were a lot of rewind moments in this chapter especially. This episode jumped around a lot more than I thought it would; I knew they would use the photo warren took as a way to reset things, but it takes a long time to reach that point. A wonderful game, and I would like to try it again and this time take all the photos and actually try and make it through saving/not killing as many people as possible - Kate, Frank, the Dog
Spoilers, if you are on a mobile..
I've given it some thought and I do prefer the sacrifice Chloe ending. The kiss you (finally, if you go down that route) share before going back just hits so hard (compared to the frankly short trip out of town you get otherwise) that it just makes it fit perfectly. Max has the memories of their time together she would not have had otherwise, and clearly Chloe is 'meant' to die. Max's intervention has let them have a future they would not (should not?) have had - and that ending to ties it up beautifully.
Also, who else had David kill Jefferson? That was satisfying.
This game has been one of the best I've played recently by a long way, and I am glad I took a chance on it.
