Almost finished the MP achievements. I just need to win a Warzone game on the third map (I've so far done the one on the sunny island and the one in the reclaimed sea bed - haven't yet played the third). I was lucky to get the one for killing a Legendary boss in Warzone, they're rare and hard as nails! Still, not a particularly enjoyable session of gaming. It's great to see the developers have really cracked the netcode. It feels so fast and smooth, it's like you're playing LAN. I had one game out of many where I felt behind the curve in terms of connection, but my enthusiasm and concentration had wandered then. Compare that to BO3, where every other game or more felt slow, laggy and ste.

I'm looking forward to getting on with Legendary now. The maps are rammed with cover and too weapons and I might hunt out the special weapons too (I found a couple on my last run). No wipe if team members die either, it should be very doable.

Heh, scrap the above post. It's tough on Legendary! The first mission was a breeze, but the second was hard, mainly because although you can direct your team mates, you can't really direct them. The choke point was a fight at the end of the level, just before the bit where you have to pilot the banshees to shoot out the power cores. The gunfight passed without issue on normal, but was about a twenty minute sticking point last time. I had to shoot the plasma turrets off their stands to cut down on the Elite's firepower. The end of the mission was pretty wild too, when the Hunters drop into the room. I'll make it, but it might occasionally be slow going. However, I feel the Prometheans may well be an easier fight, especially since the heavier enemies can't continually replenish their shields like the Elites can.

If you think it's tough now wait until you meet the Wardens on Legendary, so much swearing!

I'm sure there will be plenty of swearing. Especially that last fight with the three Wardens. I'm sure I'll swear the house down. Progress so far is steady and slow with no real holdups, that may yet change.

Mrs bought me an Xbox one with Halo 5. I've loved the other Halo games. Plugged this in and inserted the disc.'5'hrs later it's at 91% which is immensely frustrating. The idea of a game console is, surely, insert disc and play.'I would have been happy if the solo offline campaign would run but no. My daughter was given a Microsoft Windows phone. That's crap and in user friendly as well. Lucky for Microsoft that Apple don't yet make a game console

You can bh all you like about day one patches, they're a fact of life now. Apple wouldn't be any different.

I got Halo 5 for Christmas, and it wanted to do a 19GB install update before playing. My broadband isn't the quickest, but it only took around an hour and a half which felt like a lot less due to playing Forza Horizon 2 whilst I waited.

Thing is, I've spent so long playing Destiny (on PS4) that the gunplay in Halo 5 feels weird. It's always been my yardstick, but I think it may have been surpassed. Still, the graphics are great, if only I could get the Mrs to stop playing Rise of the Tomb Raider...

Would you believe it, the first Warden fight is easily the toughest! You've got that small arena, Crawlers running around chipping at your shield and knocking out your recharge...miserable! No wonder I hated it. On the other Warden appearances, I didn't fare too badly. I'm trying to remember where they are now. I know there was one at the end of Genesis next to the 'Answer' LMG after you have to get out of the tank. I stayed at long distance there and just wore down the ammo supplies before the bridge and managed to beat the Warden quite easily.

The end of 'The Breaking' was a piss boiler, as I expected it to be. In the end, I used a cheese from jumping to a platform and then boost jump/ground pounding to the ledge that takes you out of the boss room. I was effectively able to skip that miserable fight without cheating, I love a good cheese. I had otherwise suspected my game might stick there! The last mission was strangely, the hardest. That amazing fight around the power cores was piss easy, but I had forgot all about the fight at the bottom of the elevator right at the end. The last phase, when you fight the enemies in waves:

1) Crawlers and Watchers
2) Crawlers, Watchers and Soldiers
3) Crawlers, Watchers, Knights, Snipers

Checkpoint

4) Knights and more Knights

was just daft. Easily one of the hardest Halo fights ever, I was on it for a good 45 minutes. Mainly, the issue was the fact that you didn't get a checkpoint between the first three waves, so you had to spend time fighting the adds before the knights turned up - and only then could you try and strategise against the enemies, once you knew what they were and where they'd spawn! Quite a few times, my team got wiped within 5 seconds of the knights spawning, if we were standing in a bad spot. The breakthrough came when I managed to destroy a few watchers early doors and kite a shotgun toting CQC knight with my Fuel Rod Cannon. Getting the checkpoint after the first wave of knights was the breakthrough, as the next wave of tougher, better armed knights was pretty easy when they didn't have a hundred crawlers in play for backup.

So, Lone Wolfed this Halo too. Definitely the hardest Legendary run I can remember, mainly because it's clearly not designed to be played with one person. As good as your teammates are at getting you back up, their AI was spotty. Wasting vehicles, not bothering to revive on occasion, getting in the way of streams of Plasma fire or blocking shots...this is a mechanic that really needs looking at for next time and questions need to be asked if four player campaign is what people are after...

Just started to play MP on this, the servers are brilliant however as I have left it a while everyone seems to be immortal.

Was playing with a mate and we were both emptying into the opposite side only to be what seemed one shot killed. Round after round, neither of us are that rubbish. Is it just a case of a slow slog to get built up to get on an even playing field?

Also not RTFM or tried too hard to look but is it possible to host private online games as you could on the old games?

Haben't played the game in a while, and there's an update due but I cannot complete it as I'm informed I need 187GB of free space to finish it?!

It's a game I own the physcial copy of, so why the **** do I need nearly 200GB of my measly 500GB hard drive devoted to one game? Whatever happened to owning a game, popping in your console and just playing the ****ing thing?
