What sort of graphics cards are you guys who are happy with the performance using? I have a 4770k@ 4.9Ghz with 16gb and a big SSD with a 280x. Will the graphics card be decent for 1080p with full details?

I run an i7 2600k with a mild overclock, 8gb of ram & a gtx970. I running at 1080p with almost all settings maxed out & it runs silky smooth

i7 2600k here too, also 8gb ram, but an AMD 7970 - most settings maxed, and silky smooth 60fps vsynced.

I7 5820 2011 (4.2 on turbo) Win 8.1 64, 16GB DDR4 ram, X99 mobo, x2 2GB GTX 670 in Sli.

(No SSD drives, just don't see the point yet)

Even ignoring the vram warning, it still runs superbly with only a few options off the max.x 4 MSAA just takes the silky edge off though, so I leave it at x2.

Max shadows in the options and long shadows enabled is a joy to behold.Anything less and you don't get wonderful shapes being thrown all over buildings etc when caught in your headlights.

Decision made then, thanks chaps. I finished the story on Xbox 360 but didn't want to buy on the Xbox One. The PC videos have been different class though.

Those that say it runs smooth have you gone into the wilderness? I get solid 60fps in the city but out in the country it drops to 45fps and then 35fps where there's heavy vegetation.

so much better on the PC than my Xbox. Even transferred my character across. Very happy.

Add me MK4Slowride (KZ) in game.

The PHSM clan has come with me to.

I've seen a few people mentioning this on Reddit actually - you tried reducing the Grass settings?

Man that was a big download. Not had chance to play apart from the first scene start.

Not looking great at defaults on my i5, 5770, so a clocked 2gb GTS960 is on its way. Should I have gone for the 4gb version for 1440?

Finally finished downloading last night. I found that pausing and resuming when speed got low that it restarted at higher speeds

Only had chance to play opening scenes but looks great

Could anyone tell me how well gta5 would work on my system

Intel Core i5-3450 (6M Cache, up to 3.5GHz)
Gtx660

Thanks
I've some a similar set up and it runs fine with not far from max settings, however it does experience a bit of a frame rate drop occasionally.

On another note PC people, I haven't done much research into this since I bought my PC, but I'm running a GTX660 at the moment but want to beef it up a bit. I've been looking at a GTA 970, is this a wise choice?

I want to run at super max.

Also at what resolution since that makes a huge difference. You can use FRAPS or MSI afterburner to measure the actual fps you are getting.

I love the people with pimped i7s and new video cards telling us its fine hehe

Have a look at TotalBiscuit's YouTube video, he discusses GTA settings versus performance, albeit on a pretty fast rig.

I will need to get a few people added online. I have only had a quick mess around online so far but I think it will be good with some regulars instead of a group of random strangers in your crew.

But now you've got tearing?
That can be an issue, it also increases GPU usage, which makes my PC hot n noisey, however if you limit the frame rate (MSI Afterburner, Radeon Pro also does this i think) to that of the monitor refresh rate, in removes most of the tearing.

Havent gotten into the main game yet, so forgive the ignorance but is your ingame name the same as the Rockstar social login? If so, how do you 'add' people?

Hit the "Home" key on your keyboard, whilst in game - it'll open the Rockstar interface. I think if you scroll along to the "social" tab, you can enter people's Social Club usernames to add them (it's somewhere in there anyway).

We'll definitely need to get some PH heists arranged, I tried doing one of the stealthy ones last night where 50% of our group didn't have the foresight to bring silenced weapons and it was a fking shambles! hehe

You need comms for that mission to. Got to take the guards down silently in pairs. Impossible when people don't work as a team.
