I have an i5 2500k, 8GB of RAM, and 2 AMD 290's. I may have to turn down some of details to attain 60 fps at 4K, but it will probably still look better than the PS4 version.

I believe Rockstar were running it on an top end i7, 32Gb Ram and SLI 980's to get it at 4k60

http://www.pcgamer.com/why-gta-5-pc-is-the-definit...

"I was shown the game in 4K resolution running at 60fps. The PC Rockstar was demoing it on is outside the price range of most consumers, with an i7 5930k@3.50GHz, SLI GTX 980, 32GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, but that’s just to show off how pretty it can look. Rockstar says that even average rigs won’t have a problem getting great 1080p performance out of the game, which is encouraging. "

Well I caved in and am pre-loading it. If anyone is interested (which I doubt) I will report back with my findings.

Do you regret getting 2 x 290's instead of one single top of the range card?

I used to have Crossfire'd 7870's and the microstutter drove me potty. Then I used to wonder why I didn't just buy the best card available at the time.

I've only had problems with BF4, but that was just as buggy with a single card. I didn't originally plan for crossfire - I bought a single 290 to replace my 560ti. And then I caught the upgrading bug.

I'd always recommend buying the best single card you can afford come upgrade time. Then when you're looking at the next card you can consider SLI/XFire for a cheap upgrade or getting a whole new card. I tend to leapfrog my upgrades (or rather I used to) when one year I'd go CPU/mobo/RAM and carry over the graphics card then the next year upgrade the card. I still have my Core i5 2500k for nearly four years now, upgraded to 8gb from 4 and overclocked it to 4.2GHz. At the time of upgrade I had a GTX460 which got upgraded to a 670 and now a 780 and I've noticed a performance increase every time so see no need to upgrade. I have a mini windfall co,JNG next year so that'll be my DDR4/X99 upgrade.

Anyone else using the GmG code (cheers for that by the way, Oakey!) having any luck with the Rockstar/Social club integrated downloader?

So far the only problem I've faced with the Social Club downloader is poor speed. A lot of people are having issues with duplicate files being downloaded.

Already been reading that! hehe

Did you manage to get your download completed? I figure I'll give this until about 9pm (currently flicking between connection lost, and 12kb/s - with the Rockstar downloader) before I just download the .rar's from Mega.

I started yesterday and have downloaded 45GB. Fortunately no dropped connections, just a wildly fluctuating speed from 6MB/s to 120KB/s.

As the overclockers one didn't work.
