I was just about the write the same thing, mine didn't restart but was lagging terribly in story mode, I tried everything with the graphics setting, swore I'd drop PC gaming and never return "playstation didn't do this" "there's a reason why the PS4 GTA thread is about blowing st up and having fun the the PC GTA thread is all about graphics setting and fking frame rates" "I hate fking computers" etc etc so I closed the game only to read a message than Windows 8 had downloaded 14 updates and would I like to restart - been fine since.

Runs pretty much every max, even though the warning bar is deep in the red - with an old i5, 8GB of mixed RAM and a GTX 750 Ti, when it works, it looks amazing.

It would seem that the lagging is only visible when i first start playing. After maybe 5 mins of e, everything is as smooth as silk.
I'm running with v-sycn on, as i can see the tearing when it's off. But i'm bumping up the settings to ultra where i can, the frame rate is still smooth.

A bit bizarre, if i had a guess i'd say its something silly with your PC like the graphics card or CPU taking a while to clock itself up when you get in-game. When you're sitting on your desktop they'll clock themselves down to save power and create less heat and clock themselves up when you're in game and sometimes they can get a bit confused. with my old graphics cards they would sometimes clock down when I alt tabbed from a game and then not clock back up when i went back in game leaving me playing Assassin's creed at an awesome 15fps until I rebooted the game.

Anyway I could easily be very wrong but it could be possible.

Now that you mentioned it, i do have a ROG motherboard from Asus. I also have the software that allows auto over-clocking installed; i may have to have a look at the settings, or delete the application.

I sent a request to the PH crew over the weekend. How active is it? Based on this thread it may be a bit quiet.

Anyway, hackers are all over the place these days. I got given a st load of money, I'm not complaining mind you, means I've now gone from about 6 cars to 20 with the trainer jet and Buzzard too. Still have about 5mil to spare, although likely that will get taken off me once R* begin to crackdown.

Personally I don't play online and I'm not having any issues.

Are any of you using any mods yet?

I've only noticed the lag when someone is dicking around in the lobby and spawning st. Over the weekend a fella was doing all sorts, spawning meteors, windmill, an army of bigfeet. The area around that was almost unplayable, regular lobbies have been ok though.

Just got this for the PC (eventually, 60GB takes a while to download over a 10meg connection and longer still over a crappy powerline connection but that's another story) and have to say I'm very impressed how well it runs on my ex-office i3 desktop with a 750Ti shoved into it.

Had GTAV on the 360 but never had Xbox live so didn't do any of the online stuff, anyone still play this?

You can join both, but make sure to switch between the two whether you are playing Xbox or PC.

When are people normally found wandering the streets of LS?

My internet is a bit too slow for fully populated free roam sessions which normally results in me getting dumped into a session of my own but I'm up for some heists and other missions.

It does work fine on crew only sessions but can be a bit quiet with a small crew.

I've gone through and added all those who've put their name on the wiki link. 95% of my gaming is on GTA so I'm about a fair bit. I always ping out invites so keep an eye out and join me/us. We can rinse through missions or whatever you like to gain mad XP and dollar.

Has anyone else played the relay races? I need a good 2nd driver as the randoms are shocking and I don't like losing.

Also if you want a low rider don't go crazy. I spent $1,000,000+ on mine. It's pretty but no good for anything.

Some lobbies have hackers just got to find one that doesn't. The separate races and missions are clean though. I didn't think rockstar bothered banning people as there's loads of counterfeit money rolling about and people do weird things in game.

Im pretty new to pc gaming and have an old i5 2500k .

Just added a much needed graphics card upgrade ( went from a gtx460 to a new gtx1060) and can now finally play games he he.

Got to a level 24 now although most of this has been using the new stunt series.

Brand brand new to GTA so would love to join other like minded peeps but not sure how yet.

Im sick of young Russian kids and yanks kicking my arse ha ha.
