I've just created a NA Server account using identical credentials for EU account including email and profile name. When I next fire up the game will the NA Server option appear in the login dropdown alongside the current EU Server? Or will I need to do something funky with the install.
Is there even any point to having both accounts? better pings for EU I imagine for starters.
I do realise they are separate entities, and I'll need to start from scratch.
You will need to download the software from the relevant area to play there. Sounds stupid, but they do update at slightly different times and have different specials. E.g. Veteran's Day in the US.Is there even any point to having both accounts? better pings for EU I imagine for starters.

Just save the other install to a different folder on the hard drive & they will both run fine. Mine are called Games and Games EU. You can rename the desktop icons to make it obvious which is which.
Each WOWS client does remember the correct user name & password though. Something that (annoyingly) World of Tanks does not.
I have NA and EU accounts too (I'm in the UK). There's no real point to having both if you are starting from scratch. I only did it because I already had a second account for WoT and managed to get in on the US closed beta of WoWS.
The ping for the NA server is about half what it was during closed beta. It was perfectly playable when it was around 200 though.

WoWS is going live from the 17th September. It will be dropping it's Beta status. I wonder will this mean the unification of Gold and Free XP with WoT. That would be handy.
Premium already goes between games - when I get a day of premium on tanks (I only get one day at a time) it carries on over to boats too where they seem to just throw XP and silver at you if you've got premium.I imagine that's the plan. I've got 2,825 gold on WoWS I'd rather use on WoT.
I hadn't played for a while and there's a new patch (0.4.1) out. I see they've made the Minikaze less OP by increasing the concealment range to 6.2 Km and have removed the 10Km torps. I used the shorter range (7 Km) ones anyway, so that's no problem.
I wish they'd have an option to use nautical miles instead of Km, which means nothing to me. Speed is given in knots, so it makes no sense. I'd like the guns for the British and US to be in inches as well.

I decided to try out the new nerfed version of the Minikaze last night to see how bad it now was.I hadn't played for a while and there's a new patch (0.4.1) out. The detection range nerf from 5.9 to 6.2km is not noticable. I didn't use the 10km torpedoes as I actually didn't have them unlocked yet, but they were too slow for my taste anyway. I was going to keep using the 7km range 68kph torps anyway. THe removal of the long range torps simply meant I saved 4500xp that could be used to unlock the other modules quicker.
What they did do however was buff the gun traverse which makes the guns actually usable now. They still don't turn as fast as USN DDs but they turn fast enough to actually get on target often enough to be actually useful now.
So, dat test drive. It was on the new Straits map with the new domination mode (much better set up than the old split btw). Despite crashing to desk top half way through the Minikaze still smashed face. I had already killed a Wyoming when I CTD. When I got back in I was still alive for some reason (probably the enemies simply hadn't detected me) but I had a Kuma and a Wyoming both at 7km range.
I torpedoed the Wyoming, killing him and then engaged the Kuma with guns!! until I could put out more torpedoes and finish him. After that it was capturing cap points and hunting down one of the enemy carriers.
I finished with 9 torpedo hits, 4 kills and over 90k damage.
In summary I feel that if anything the buffed guns have made the Minikaze more OP than ever as the nerf is insignificant to anyone who doesn't use the slow 10km torps.
10/10 Would nerf again.
Ha, well that's Ok then. The guns really were pathetic. I'm still on the tier 3 Japanese destroyer, since I don't play very often. I got team killed by some torpedo-spamming idiot in another destroyer.
First game & first salvo last night and my Kawachi one shot a full health St Louis. I don't mean with a broadside either, just a single hit of HE at the rear. At least that's what it looked like. I got over 50K damage that game, which isn't bad for tier 3.
I still feel World of Fires has little repeat value as a game. I can only play a few times before I get bored of it. It's too slow and repetitive. You don't even see an enemy ship for a good 3-4 minutes. There's some graphical glitching this patch as well and although the ping is quite low the "elastic banding" effect still pops up now and then.
Another thing I don't like is that if you change the ammo type it reloads ALL the guns the next time you fire - even if they haven't all fired. This really aggravates me as I like to alternate & could have used those shells as the guns were brought to bear.

I had a few games last night, but Jesus it's boring. I found myself setting course and then alt-tabbing out for a couple of minutes at a time. When I came back, I hadn't missed anything.
They really need to amp up the firing effects and smoke. Have big gouts of water kick up from near misses etc.

I do have the graphics etc ramped up to full and I admit the eye candy is sweet and gives you something to look at while sailing leisurely along in the vague hope of encountering an enemy ship.
In other news. Thanks to the x2 xp in WoWS over the weekend the New Mexico is now in my garage..I mean...port. Sold the New York. It was a great ship and an easy grind but I really don’t need it when I have the Kongo still to grind. Kongo has better speed, better range but weaker armour. The New York sure could take a beating.
Talking of taking a beating, the New Mexico is just beast! I took it out for its maiden voyage once I got it, mostly stock. I had enough free xp to get the second hull (there are 3). I pimped it out with some equipment, the most important being the -20% to rudder shift time (to avoid those nasty torps). It comes fully loaded in the guns department, no upgrades necessary, and what guns. 4 turrets with 3 guns each for a broadside firepower of 12 16in guns which will wreck any cruiser unlucky enough to give you his broadside, and it seems to have decent dispersion. Range is similar to the NY and can be upgraded a little. It can also be upgraded to give it fairly effective AA but I don’t have that yet.
Anyhoo, I took it out and got a really crap MM, bottom tier in a mostly tier 8 game. Tirpitzzz...Tirpitzs?...Tirpitzi? everywhere, North Carolinas and so on and so forth and what have you. We lost ofcourse to cap (due to our DDs cowering behind rocks and not doing their thing) but it was an excellent game with both sides agreeing that it was a lot of fun. The thing is, I didn’t feel bottom tier in this thing at all. It had as much firepower as anything else out there (albeit the range suffered) and I ended up finishing 2nd on damage and xp and had 3 kills. (I really need to remember to take screen shots or something).
I also snagged a “Dreadnought” award. That one is take damage equivalent to 120% of your hit points from at least 4 different ships and survive the battle. It got me 10 flags which improve your BB repair cooldown by 20% which is useful. I still had a decent amount of health left at the end and would have killed the remaining enemy ships if we hadn’t lost on points. 2k xp on a loss. Oh well.
New Mexico is epic. It can dish it out and it can take it! I am looking forward to getting top tier.

I find it's the opposite to tanks in that the lower tiers are quite slow games but the further up you go the more frantic the games get with the AA going off (and doing nothing), the ships are faster, firing ranges are up, etc. They really need to amp up the firing effects and smoke. For reasons I can't quite fathom I'm levelling the US destroyers, finally got to tier 5 and I was initially disappointed with the Nicholas but somehow I've been top ship in the three games I've played Really odd as I'm terrible at this game!
My mate who watches Twitch a lot says it's not doing at all well based on the number of people watching other people play it.
The low tier ships, especially American battleships are pure purgatory. I probably just need to make an effort to get to around tier 5 at least.
The game has always looked good, but the effects could be better. The islands have more trees now too. If you zoom in on the little villages there's a lot of detail there, even washing on the line.

The game does change a lot once you get out of tier 3.
But the damage variation due to RNJesus is just insane - tonight in one game one battleship did a 20k hit mate to my division buddy, then straight away did 20k to me, whereas we were hitting things at long range and only doing 1k a salvo. Then in another game I did 58k damage from 18 hits, but 30k of that was from 3 hits, it's just so random.
Also this happens annoyingly often

Dead slow, firing at a near stationary target and some shots go just long, others fall just short
