Just not getting on with this game, if this is simulation I think I prefer arcade, I know I can do a lap of Oulton Park at a moderate pace in an actual car without spinning or crashing, but in this it is seemingly impossible, personally I think this is a badly flawed game that will be going on Ebay.

With the controller it's ok, but with the wheel it's brilliant. I wouldn't say woefully bad but there are some cars with a controller that are really bad but some that are good but it is supposed to be a sim and would you drive a car with a controller?
No i wouldnt drive a car with a controller but its the first racing game I have found unplayable with a pad. I dont have the space for a wheelset up and going by others reports on the game i am not the only one who thinks this.

I may follow y2blade and buy the ps4 version if it actually is playable as the game has a lot of potential with all the tracks available.

This game was not ready for release. Unless my controller is charging, whenever I brake the sound cuts out!

Very poor testing, leaving a great deal to be desired.

Fancy giving the Ferrari 458 steering wheel a go - how does the pedal set secure to the floor? And can you add a manual gearbox to it? Thanks chaps...
The wheel is fantastic, i'd recommend it to anyone, although the FFB takes a bit of setting up and getting used to on PCars.
My pedals are mounted to my wheelstand so I can't comment on how they'd do on the floor... Not great i'd assume.

As for the manual box, yep, there are a few add ons, I have the TH8A shifter and it is sublime, plus you can go from H pattern to sequential within about 40 seconds worth of work smile

I've updated the wiki with my GT too thumbup
I've ordered the wheel without the FFB for now to see how I get on with using a wheel - from what I can gather, I will be able to use the wheel without the pedals by changing some settings? This would be ideal if I have bother getting the pedals stable on the floor. Can anyone confirm this is possible? Cheers...

Which car did you drive round oulton in game and for real? I have driven a caterham for real and they are really stable and chuckable (but when they go they go) but the one in the game is dreadful, but there are some that are ok but it is a hard game. I did the formula rookie at oulton and that was pretty good I think. I have also been reading on the PS thread and I think they are having problems as well maybe not with the controller like ours but with crashing and sound giltches

Yep - got a decent controller set up at last but the Caterham is really bad... I put stability control on to just get round a lap and the amount of times it had to kick in to save me was ridiculous

On the flip side, I thorougly enjoy driving the Caterham with the wheel, turn in a little early and trail brake to get the front to bite with the back a little bit sideways, catch it and power out nice and straight. It truly is great fun. biggrin

I enjoy driving the caterham with the pad and am using the same techniques as you, trail braking in and using the weight to turn the car then changing the attitude of the car with the throttle.
Took me 20 mins to get the feel for it but that is the same with all the cars, they all drive differently so before using a new car do a practice race with it. its deffo not like forza where you can flit from one car to another.

Success of sorts... Moved one of the sensitivity sliders up a tad and controlled a couple of slides - at least it now doesn't feel as if it's trying to kill me

Are any of you guys interested in a race series/championship online?

Like the one the PS4 guys are doing? I had a look and couldn't see anything organised yet!
What thoughts on the first car/class for this then??

Waiting for the patch. Until then I'm mostly on the PS4 version.

I seem to have found my balance with the game now. Fiddled with some settings and made the brakes much less sensitive for now.

Starting with the Karts is what throws people im sure. Once your up to GT M1 and the 80s GT series you can drive much more smoothly.

I can't really play this to be honest.

The frame rate lagging at brands means I can't actually control the car.
The steering locking on a megane meant I couldn't continue the race.
Any thing with RWD I can't correct any slides.

I like the game but it is frustrating. I'm not going to bother anymore until it has been patched.

I will be on this but not at the moment for the same reason

Been back on good old Destiny enjoying myself. rather than fannying about trying to set up handling for the cars on here

I'd be up for a few online races.

Mpm1987 is my gamer tag.

I'm using the Thrustmaster TX setup

Same.
Until the patch hits i'm off Project CARS on XO otherwise i'm going to end up hating it as it is right now.

It's a real shame as the PS4 version is very playable/enjoyable

Edit: any further news on the patch? I'd heard 19 JUNE! Please someone correct me.

Being waiting for a while to get back into online racing and i am really enjoying this so far despite the crappy graphics, i think i lucked into a nice wheel set up which works very well for me. its a real shame the pad users are struggling cause there is a great game here, its perfect for PH race nights. Hope it gets sorted soon so we can get some races going, if you see me online send me an invite, always up for racing - IdleWillo is my xbox tag.

I'm finally gonna take the plunge and get a decent wheel. Thrustmaster TX seems to be the best bet so far.

I'm quite enjoying it with the pad, won my first race with the Formula rookie last night. The cars are a bit of a mixed bag,i'm finding the snorting Zakspeed Capri easier to keep on the circuit than the Escort!

Looking forward to the patch and any future additions.
