Unless I'm being daft, and that's quite possible, once you have a wheel plugged in there is NO WAY TO ACCESS HALF THE MENUS! As there's no triggers on the wheel (paddles act as LB/RB), you can't access any of the geometry or damping options on the car, nor 4/5 of the general options on the option menu. I tried using a controller and that does nothing unless you're entering your name, so it's not just that.

Silly, silly mistake I think. Maybe it's just me, I'm sure there must be a way round it, but I'm not faffing around tonight.
I've found the same with my TX. Setup everything I could, did some hot lapping of cadwell and oulton (driven both IRL) in the 1M, built up confidence / pace.

It takes 4 or 5 laps to really get the heat into tyres, but then it's rather nice. The zone between grip and no grip is quite large, and you can move the car around under braking or over crests, surprisingly settled under power.

Tried a race and I'll admit my driving slipped, it does take more concentration to drive hard than Forza - it's been a while since I played Assetto but it reminded me of that.

Tried the Caterham classic (briefly) and it was a handful, nothing like the 1M - really had to recalibrate my inputs (mental, not setup) to get the best from it. It's great to see they don't all handle the same, but I can imagine anyone jumping into a Pagani with the pad and all assists off will have issues unless they build up pace gradually.

A few audio glitches, and the models changing detail at distance is very noticable on the projector. A little tearing in replays, but didn't notice any in driving.

From a brief test, it feels like a PC game, in both good (sim handling) and bad (glitches / lack of polish). If they can iron out those few rough edges, it will be very good indeed.

It is these two settings that appear to make you car from twitchy to dead steering:

Speed Sensitivity
Controller Filter Sensitivity

Would be nice to know what they actually do. Messed around last night for a couple of hours and went from not being able to drive through Eau Rouge forwards to putting in some good laps

Apparently, on the wheel LT and RT are Brake and Gas - not tested yet.

Glad it wasn't just me getting the audio glitches too, that was kinda irritating.

I'll give the pedals thing a go tonight, must admit that was one thing I didn't try so a possible facepalm moment there. I definitely need to spend a fair bit of time playing with the sensitivity of the wheel, but I need to figure out what all the different options actually mean first...

Oh, did anyone else find that they couldn't change the weather settings in free practice? Was greyed out to 250 laps and overcast when I gave up racing other cars last night.

Just noticed there is an advanced set of options for the controller setup.

Soft Steering Dampening
Visual Wheel Filtering
Opposite Lock Help

I've tried all kinds of configurations, input modes etc. just can't find anything that feels right.

I've opted for pro setup initially so no assists. This is frustrating!

Try this:

Steering deadzone = 18
steering sensitivty = 5
Throttle deadzone = 0
Throttle sensitivity = 30
Brake deadzone = 14
Brake sensitivity = 15
Clutch deadzone = 0
Clutch sensitivity = 45
Speed sensitivity = 75
Control filtering sensitivity = 50
Force feedback = 90

Also to add - Update your pad. Reports coming in that this fixes the sensitivity.

You need to connect the Micro USB to the controller to the Xbox and go to controller settings and update them to the latest updates. Worked well when I was having Headphone issues a few months back

Really enjoyed getting to grips with the clio.

I'm finding multiplayer a bit st though. No way to search through a list of games. It just joins you into a random one? Annoying.

In the settings, under Gameplay - Onscreen guides.

I figured out the whole triggers on wheel issue, it is just the throttle and brake instead. All sorted, I'm a happy bunny again smile

Have found that ham fisted throttle inputs normally end up with a visit to the barrier... Also braking in a straight line avoids all sorts of fun and games - Didn't even get to the 1st corner in the old Lotus F1 car...

Clios around Laguna is awesome even against the AI - will be carnage with a lobby full of us on it...

there should be a filter list on the right hand side to filter by class/track etc

Which pad setting is that on? 1,2 or 3?

I've run them on setting 3, dropped the controller filtering to 40 or 45 iirc and it seems to be a pretty decent base.

The clio cup around brands is super-chuckable!!

Are you running any assists with that setup?

I'm massively disappointed so far. Can't find any settings for the controller which feel right.

I'm all for customisation but should you really have to setup the controller on a game before being able to play it.

The slightest touch of the stick and the cars are waggling around. Change the settings and it's like steering through treacle!

Aaarrrgghhh!!!!!
