Are you running any assists with that setup?

I'm massively disappointed so far. Can't find any settings for the controller which feel right.

I'm all for customisation but should you really have to setup the controller on a game before being able to play it.

The slightest touch of the stick and the cars are waggling around. Change the settings and it's like steering through treacle!

Aaarrrgghhh!!!!!
No assists mate. If it's too sluggish lower the speed sensitivity. If it's too quick, raise it.

First impressions having spent an hour on it now on Xbox ONE. Using the Joypad & Driving with everything on default settings and have only used the BMW 1M coupe.

First off did a few practise laps of Brands Hatch to get a feel for it, then a Race on Silverstone National..the only thing I changed was to increase the grid field to maximum..started mid pack ended up 3rd...have now upped the AI difficulty to 60 ready for my next race.

Very impressed so far, looking forward to spending the afternoon on it.

TX user but did the same, free practice / adjusting controls until 1M felt right, then a few races, then a couple of other road cars. It takes not only the 4 or 5 laps to show tyre temperature, but maybe a lap or two beyond that when it starts to grip / slide as expected.

Even starting a race on "hot" tyres feels like it take a lap to truly bed in. Did some slow laps on brands in thunderstorms with the A45, starting to work transfering weight to induce change of direction.

Did the first couple of kart championships in career, not as twitchy as I expected.

It's not without the odd sound and graphical glitch, but the handling model is sublime once tyres up to temperature. I wonder how many are struggling that went straight to LMP1 with no assists and thought they would master it?

I hated it at first but seem to have understood it now. Going to up the first races from two laps though as the tyres don't come on song for a few.

Had a wheel nut jam in the pits last night. Finished 7th overall at snetterton.

Done 4/5 weekends racing a renault clio in tier 6.

Some of the framerates on the tracks are poor which i'm hoping can be sorted. Good overall.

Using control setting 2.

For those moaning about lift of oversteer, try it in real life. Same result.

7/10 from me so far.

For me this is unplayable with a controller quite disappointed as I am an avid racing sim player all the controllers and all were find out if the box.

Can anyone recommend a reasonable and collapsible wheel stand as I think I am going to have to buy a wheel to get anything out of this game

Try control setting two.

What have you tried playing on the game so far. It's not a game you can pick up and master immediatley.

I said the same just now tbh:
"Anyone yet to play this don't make the mistake that a lot seem to be making...being that they are turning all assists off , jumping in the hottest cars in the game and trying to drive like it's an arcade racer....then complaining that they are unable to complete a lap without spinning or crashing."

smile

Agreed

I had a go in the group A sierra last night. Decided the clio's were safer hehe

Quite.

And it's eminently playable with a controller, as evidenced by the leader boards.

Its a tricky game that I think will reward perseverance. I'm playing with a controller and I've tried settings 2 and 3 and there's been a definite improvement. I think further tweaking is needed though.

I'd like to see what other people are using for both controller and car setups as I'm not overly knowledgeable about either.

The game did seem a little more rough around the edges than I was expecting to be honest. Some of the track and car detail seems a little low quality but if it means that we can have 45 car grids, I'll happily live with it.

The sounds are generally excellent although I did notice a bit of breakup at times. The lighting is beautiful and adds real atmosphere to the races.

I was a little disappointed to find that when setting up a single player race, I couldn't select a mixed grid of LMP's and GT's. When I chose the Multi-Class option It gave me a grid of LMP1 and 2 cars only. For a proper Le Mans experience with a large grid, this is a must IMO. Hopefully it will come in later updates.

Did that while it was installing with the dodgy button layout - now set up as I would drive in Forza which is better. Something def wrong with my set up though as the karts are impossible to drive and I can't get round two corners without spinning a 100bhp caterham... Huge snap oversteer

I know I probably add too much lock at turn in( playing with a pad) but it's bloody painful in anything RWD currently

Think this is the only Friday night where im more than happy to babysit hehe

Bought it on the way to work this morning. Finally an in depth racer for the xbox one. Bit of a shame about the lack of budget force feedback steering wheels for Xbox at the moment though. Anybody know of any upcoming ones?

Tempted to get a thrustmaster tx 458 wheel, anyone got one?

The upgraded t3pa peddle box with clutch and gear stick look rather nice as well!

I know it's early days but I can't say I'm too impressed really. Firstly the sound is glitchy, the gameplay seems jerky, I can't change the camera in free practice, the feel of the car changes from free practice to race, it won't show I'm in reverse on the HUD (cockpit view it works)

Anyone else having any of the problem above?

I think there is a few problems they need to iron out before I personally can start to enjoy it. On a plus side the cars and tracks I've used/drove all look good and it does have a nice overall feel,

When you press A and the box comes up saying (please assign the new configuration) press the button you wish to use for that specific motion

Example:
Press A on gear shift up, then when the box appears press B ( this will then assign. Button B to gear shift up.

Hope that helps.
