Hi all, i've just bought this and will be playing in five minutes.

RE FFB, this fix for wheel users was posted on a FB group i'm a part of.

http://www.mediafire.com/view/oq7chrvg4q83p2a/effe...

I'm yet to try it but apparently it really sorts it out. I'll be using a G27.

Think it needs to go I the steam apps folder then in the FFB folder, there should be 4 or so files in that folder, I just copy the text and paste it in to the relevant file in notepad, it does help but it is still a ways off.

Does a steering wheel really make the difference? I'm struggling to justify the 150 quid for an ebay G27 atm.

Worth hanging on to next update to see if they improve it? Not sure that i want to start altering files as it could all end up a bit confusing.

Ive always had wheels, Got a brilliant old Microsoft FFB wheel and only got a Logitech MOMO because Pcars didnt initially support the MS wheel, The MOMO was a hardly used £40 Ebay bargain, Its a good basic FFB wheel, Does the job. Ive tried driving with a gamepad and hated it TBH, Wheels are so much more precise.

And if you are struggling to get your H pattern and clutch working, it is in your profile and not options, there is a choice to change from manual to h pattern and full clutch, makes it all the more enjoyable.

An excellent start.
The game will only map a clutch if its an axis controller? It doesnt recognise a button for a clutch that i can see? I only have 2 pedals and like to use a button on my wheel for the clutch, It doesnt bother me that its on/Off with a button as i dump the clutch anyway biggrin All my non codemaster sims allow for this: Pcars, RBR, Race series, Ftruck etc so Codies need to get this sorted.

Heh, I've not heard anything other than calm. When you get a flat, he says, "I think you've got a puncture in your right front tyre" as you take a corner at 50, completely placidly, rather than screaming down the mic in urgency as you slide off the road onto a 5 in 1 slope.
When the tyres are fully gone (I've raced maybe 10 stages so far and had a tyre-less corner at least 3 times...) even his warning "I think the front-right tyre's gone" is like you'd asked him if he prefers chips or peas with his dinner.

I was dismayed at first with the "buying cars" thing, but I just had a go in a Delta S4 in Wales, just to see what AWD is like compared to FWD (Mini) that I'm using in career. 3 corners and I was on my roof amongst trees... This is tough!

Edit: Oh, I asked a q in AD about left foot braking - I've been using the tits off it to get the FWD mini around corners better. Theory being put to practise biggrin

Hehe, yeh. Love the snapshot as you cross the line with just a rim, sparks streaming off it. Not tried anything beyond escort yet. Also can't get promoted past clubman. I suck. frown

I've been on this a fair bit, moved up into the Elite class now, and using the Audi Quattro but my god it's so hard now. I finished 3rd in open, 2nd in clubman, 4th and then 2nd in the pro championship and now seem to be stuck at Elite, in 5th going into the last rally in Wales.

Looks like I'll be stuck in this class for a while because I'm well off first and second in terms of pace.

I bought the Ford Escort after getting slightly used to the Mini, took it out and crashed immediately. Repeatedly. I ended up going "f it!" and closing the game down for half an hour before having another crack at it. Absolutely great stuff.

I got a 6:53 time on today's Daily Challenge (205 T16 on Monaco at night). So much lag in that thing!

Lol, I was doing quite well on that one, until I came off a hairpin right near the end...which happened to be a bridge. <retired>. laugh

Game won't work for me at all. I have to map controls every time i load, and then when i try to enter any kind of event it crashes to desktop. I've managed to get on track 7 times, but usually results in a CTD halfway through a stage.

It seems this is a common issue looking at their forums and the steam forum. I spent 2 hours yesterday trying different things to get it to work, but it was a waste of time. There is clearly a complex issue with the game.

Be warned. I feel a bit robbed at the moment.

There is currently no pattern established. Can happen to anybody. The developers are not even responding at the moment.

Klunk,

Does the Microsoft sidewinder FFB work acceptably then? I heard reports of weird menu selection(having to use the pedals!) with it?

I am tempted to get this, but I wont 'upgrade' from the USB Sidewinder if it doesn't work.

Thanks,

Jon

I had the controls unpinning issue but I think the day two patch fixed it. My only problem at the moment is occasionally reverting to windowed mode from full screen which is a bit annoying.

I bought the mk2 after 2 seasons in the 124 and was really annoyed I couldn't stop spinning, took a break then got into a rhythm with it in Wales, OMG it's so good!

Annoyingly on mine, I've got 'the Sebastian problem' - I.e. I'm a solid second, fighting for tenths with the guy behind, but 1sr is 10-12 seconds a stage ahead, so I'm only ever fighting for 2nd or less. It's weird, in a stage I can go green over 2 seactors, be up 2-3 seconds but then I'll have a seemingly good sector. and be 10-12 down again frown

Couldn't say I am afraid as I use a pedal, I understand that FFB and general controller work is high up on their agenda as it has been the main problem people are having. They have advised against modding FFB files but just save the original and you really wont have a problem.

If the screen minimizes, Alt+Enter is your friend!

In terms of specs to run it and graphics problems, I had the initial problem of it not ruining, that seemed to fix itself and by deleting some space on my C drive despite neither the game nor steam being on it.

Just got a Stratos in my career after completing 4 championships in the first stage just to get enough cash, 2nd corner in Greece and I was on my roof sliding down the side of a mountain hehe, the more I play it the more I enjoy it, again, well worthy of 20 quid!

I can run it on Ultra with a bit of an aging system with a I7 2600, 16gb of Ram and a 1st gen GTX Titan with 6gb, can on pCars though!

I was getting really bothered by hairpins, and getting lost in the settings... then I was reading on reddit, and someone suggested turning the driving aids down. I'd set them all to max initially as I couldn't stay on the track for the life of me... funnily enough, turning them all (ABC, TC & SC) off has made it loads more fun, and ironically easier to drive! Can really flick it round the hairpins (When it goes right...)

Jon, Im currently using a Logitech MOMO as my Sidewinder was'nt supported on Pcars, Trouble is the sidewinder is boxed and buried up in my storage, So i cant try it for you easily, Are you aware of DXTweak for these wheels?
