Turn all of the driving aids off, use manual sequential box and drive slowly. Increase pace gradually
This is what I'm doing hence the my 'slow and steady' times... have to say the game really does come alive when using the 360 pad compared to just using the keyboard only done those two stages so far with the Alfa, looking forward to trying out some of the other cars/stages.When I set up the other one ont he laptop, I was signed into racenet under the account linked to my PSN. It automatically linked the league to my PSN account and showed up under my leagues in Dirt Rally.
Unfortunately, I can't check the game and see if I can race as I'm currently at work.

Were you going up or down that stretch?
You can adjust the co driver call timing, yes. In the options somewhere.
Mostly up then suddenly down Got a fair number of penalties, could have restarted but wouldn't be in the spirit really...You can adjust the co driver call timing, yes. In the options somewhere.
Think it was the uphill stretch, reverse of the first stage?
This game looks like it will be very good fun. I've just done my first few drives on the Xbox One, having a bit dabble here and there. I've got all the assists set to zero and on manual shifts. The very first thing I did was take a Peugeot 205 T16 PP up Pikes Peak - or at least I tried, I got a few hundred metres down the road before the car was so wrecked I called it in.
Next up, Mini Cooper in Germany, followed by McRae's Impreza, the Polo WRC, Evo etc etc, just testing the waters. The Metro 6R4 is a bit of a monster - wants to spin on a dime and doesn't seem to have great traction, sounds amazing though. On the whole, the car sounds are the best I've heard in a game, especially with headphones and the audio setting changed to headphone setting, very good indeed. The anti-lag on the Evo sounds absolutely superb.
I took the Audi Quattro up the tarmac PP course next, getting to the top mostly in one piece, but very slowly. I then had a go in the Peugeot 208 T16 that Loeb smashed the course record in, this was a big moment as it's one of all iconic motorsport vehicle faves and Loeb is something of a personal hero to me. As much fun as it was, it doesn't seem to have much, if any downforce whatsoever - it handles like it's on an ice rink like all the cars. We're talking about a car with a LMP racer wing and diffuser, a huge front splitter and undertray, aero side spats etc, slick tyres run straight off the tyre warmers - it should grip like hell and give even more grip as the aero increases - with the aero, weight of the car and the tyres, coupled with the top speed of 150mph or so, it should be completely unflappable over the flowing sections after the Devil's Playground section but it's not. This is something Forza does well - working aero simulation where cars turn in sharper and track a line perfectly through a corner once they are going fast enough to generate the working downforce from the aero. It's a shame that it doesn't really feel like it's there (to me) on the 208 T16 PP car, but otherwise it's a masterful experience.
It's still a shame the car selection on Pikes Peak is limited, but I doubt I'll get bored of driving that hill, I've wanted to do it in a game for years and I'm so glad to finally have the chance. It would be nice if at least Monster and Millen's cars (petrol and electric) get added in, even if they are DLC.

I have never sworn so much at the screen. It is such a rewarding game whilst at the same time taunting you, 3 epic green sectors then within a sniff of the finish line you find the magnetic wall which catapults you off into the scenery! Then you nail it all, its epic, you compare to your friends and you are within a few seconds but find they have only driven the track once to your 500.
Thanks for the guidance guys, its much more fun now. Loving the rallycross the most!
