The 'self made millionaire' achievement on this is turning into a real grind. Every time I start a custom event the computer selects either Sweden or fking Finland. I've driven once on Germany and once at Monaco tonight, the rest has all been Finland and Sweden, and I've played about three hours.

Sick to fking death, give my million credits already...

After a good few days of not touching this game due to frustration I decided to spend a bit of time to set up my wheel and then continued my Rally in Wales. Mananged to win my first stage.

First run saw be finished with terminal damage, second run was having the drive of my life until the wife distracted me and I went off. This is the best I can do and my 3rd attempt. started to take it easy as I was 18 seconds up finished about 5 seconds up.

Have you linked your account?
I used Steam to log in to Racenet, and I can see my game stats in Racenet, is there something else I need to do?

The quickest and easiest way to do this is in Rallycross, if you win each event you can earn around 70k every 10mins.

Set the difficulty to Masters and the heats, semi, and final to 2 laps each. You'll have your 1,000,000 in a couple of hours using this method.

Just discard custom event and start another, should give you different stages

Well done thumbup A wheel makes a huge difference and is much more satisfying.

I finished the piston-heads2 events this morning, it did NOT go well! Puncture (had to repair, car was undriveable!) A couple of frustrating offs on the Wales stage where getting the car back on the track was messy. I'm not a fan of the Germany stages at the best of times, they were mostly terrible! Overall, a most frustrating experience banghead

Then, on one of the weekly stages in wales, I had what felt like my best stage so far. Everything seem to come together, I listened to my co-driver and corners were judged almost perfectly (for me at least!), One or two bits I could have done better but, no significant mistakes at all Yet, when I crossed the line, I see that the fastest time (admittedly in the world but still) is a full 30 seconds faster!! I mean, how the actual fk is that possible?!! The radiator was buggered from the start so, that may have been a factor.

Or, I just wasn't as fast as I thought I was!!hehe

All good fun though, this game is extremely satisfying sometimes drivingthumbup - clip of stage here for anyone who is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_PeQRwfFrw

ETA: Just found this video clip of a rally driver playing Dirt Rally....Wow! Yup, never competing with that!! bow

On dirtgame.com, click next to your name and then manage account. Ensure steam icon is clicked.

I love the game, and is up there with the best driving games i've played, but I can't help hankering after more locations :-/

Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya....Am I being greedy ?

Must admit thought about stages from the Safari, though how people would deal with sections 6 hours long, and needing a few 'villagers' to push you through the mudholes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some DLC added in the future with more locations, I'm sure I read somewhere that they was already looking into it!

DLC would be nice, it's starting to get a little repetitive for me.

More cars too, Celica GT4, Legacy, Lotus Cortina and an Evo 6 would be lovely

I can't join any leagues as when I try to login it says Racenet is down each time. Anyone else get this? I seem to have a Racenet account when I log in on the website.

How many points for this crash? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtCFPjvCnGU

A solid 9/10 clap

You lost a point as the car was driveable afterwards hehe

I've found Racenet can be a hit and miss affair. I completed a Finland league stage this morning, only you be told 'the leaderboard can't be updated, please try later' but, with no option to continue without closing the application. Had to re-do the stage and was 5 seconds slower frown

Gave the league a go today, I got about a minute into the first stage before receiving terminal damage thanks to a tree that jumped out on me frown Spent a good 20 minutes practicing beforehand too

Right, on the league again tonight. Haven't driven any of the 2000s before or any of the newer cars really, so I did some shakedowns. It wasn't until the 4th shakedown that I figured out why I couldn't change gear... Flappy paddles for this, no H-pattern!

So with that sorted out, off I went... First stage went OK, had a big ol' spin, ended up ~19 seconds off the pace which set me one from bottom... Next up was a night stage. Yikes. Not done one of these in Finland before, and the only thing I've driven Finland in was the Alpine, which is a bit slower than the Impreza!

Stage went OK, a couple of near misses, but just listening to the co-driver and trying to keep it under control saw me only 9 seconds off the pace. This jumped me up to 2nd, so presumably some of those misses weren't quite so near for the other guys!

On to stage 3!

Just done stage 3, bit exciting that!

Was going well, felt good, then ran a bit wide and this happened:

So, perfect barrel roll executed, the co-driver changed his pants and made some smart arse remark.

About 3 corners later the car lurched sideways to the right, and the co-driver pointed out we'd lost the right rear. Ah.

So we crabbed home at speed and managed to hold it all together to finish 9 seconds up on the previous best yikes

Lets see if I remain so lucky on stage 4 getmecoat

Well I thought that stage went brilliantly, felt fast, couple of small mistakes and one big one, but no major damage... 22 seconds off the pace!!!

Still holding second, but I feel Finland may belong to xRIEx hehe

That's the problem I'm having, have a look back through the thread, it appears we need to link our accounts...(see Tonsko's post above)
