So yesterday I set about doing the final 6 stages at Monte Carlo on the monthly event which would finally earn me the platinum.

All was going great as I'd been setting a medium pace to make sure I just completed it this month.

Stage 24 of 24 and after nearly 2 hours of rally the end is in sight. Approximately 45 seconds from the finish the Mrs burts through the door to show me her new shoes.....

Cue brief loss of concentration turning into a 4 left which was really a 2 left resulting in a ridiculously slow motion roll over a wfall.

I really hope she enjoys those fking shoes.
eek

OMG I almost know how you feel, never binned it at the end if a monthly but they take some doing,

sorry but laughed to myself while reading that, I would have been livid, all that hard work and she walks in wanting you to look at some stiletoes,,

Shame it wasn't during last league event I might have won laugh

I cant even blame the missus, had a week off as i was away. Last stage on pistonheads league went over the edge, followed by first stage in pistonheads2 league exactly the same about 5 minutes later.

It's ok - someone suggested that out of the 5 stages, you pick your best 4 to represent you in the league points. The only posts to refer to this have been positive, so it looks as though it will carry. thumbup

The only possible way she should get away with that (surely) is if the shoes were all She was wearing!!

Seriously, I feel your pain - I would have been gutted! I can imagine the look of disbelief on your face! eekbanghead

It was a strange mix of anger and sadness, which ultimately left me dropping the controller and staring at the screen for several minutes with a blank expression.

So thinking ahead, into the real WRC, it's the last round, last stage, the whole championship hangs on a few seconds gap between Ogier and Latvala.

As Ogier powers towards a tricky bend with suspension removing rocks and a big drop on the outside, a bevy of Finnish stunners wearing nothing but their new shoes appear out of the boondocks around the braking point...

I've crashed out of the monthly twice now, first on stage 8, then on stage 16. This perfectly sums up how it felt both times. Anger and sadness while staring at the screen for a good 5 minutes, not quite believing what had just happened!

So.

The intention was was pop out to Boots for a free prescription and some batteries which cost a pound.

I seem to have come back with a 1tb PS4, Dirt Rally, Uncharted 4 and Pro Evo soccer.

Opps...

Getting back to the thread. Steep learning curve! I seem to spend a lot of time reversing out of shrubberies...

Spending's not done yet. It absolutely needs to be played with a wheel.

Such a rewarding game when in the online league. Totally let down by racenet constantly bombing out, crashing my game and losing results. Traded in for horrid henry on ds for daughter and fall out 4 for me. Ms need to force use of its servers for any pc/xbox games. Dont care about sony

You sir, are epic! Although Racenet on PS4 seems to be the weakest link.

+1 on investing in a wheel, then you can get Project Cars for a bit of track action and Assetto Corsa when it comes out. Both are great racing games IMO.

The previous results table should be there further down the page, I just created a copy for the second event rather than overwriting.
