Well, despite my personal employment problems at present my family have decided to treat me to a PS4 for my birthday. When browsing the current bundles the only one to stand out was the Black Ops III set, so that is hopefully what I'll receive!

Despite saying that the franchise looks to have been ruined by displacing everything which made COD so good I'm looking forward to playing this new one. I only really ever play online multiplayer, having never bothered with the last two COD campaigns.

I've actually been playing Ghosts online most recently, as tbe experience is a lot more 'polished' than the steaming pile that was AW. Here's hoping for a return to form or at least a return of atmosphere last seen in BLOPs 2.

Ghosts? Polished? It was by far the most half arsed COD of recent years, by some measure. Even utter crap like MW2 was made with some conviction, despite being hopeless.

I smashed a few games in this morning between 0600 and 0800. The gamestate was awful. Half full lobbies, games of 3v3 with players struggling to join and serious host advantage. The host advantage/lag was as bad as I'd seen it. Some players were getting in excess of 35 kills in a game, and their killcams made it look like the opposition were standing still. Some games went alright, and whilst I never felt like I was ahead of the curve, I still managed to put a couple of levels on and upgrade some kit.

I've been giving a little more time to some of the more 'old skool' maps like Exodus, Hunted and Redwood. Redwood is still ste, but Hunted is pretty good. They break away, in some sense, from the 'three corridor' setup of most of the maps, which have become fan favourites because they usually mean quick and easy score. Nuketown was always popular, but even that wasn't typical three corridor layout because the cover was lain perpendicular to the flow of action from the main spawn points. Hunted is more like MP maps used to look, before the speedball style of play became most popular.

I'm hoping to get back on later today with a friend to secure the gold badge for the combat simulation in singleplayer. It shouldn't be hard with two players and high level kit.

What?!

This game was incredible. I think I ended up with 5 solid days play time on it!

I ended up rage quitting last night. Solid connection (13mb actual) and I was running around with 1 bar whilst everyone else had 4. Emptying half mags at close range into the chest then getting two shot killed after I'd finished spraying. Ridiculous. That's on TD.

I know it's the player matching because I ended up playing FFA and it was fine for three or four games then started happening again.

Now now boy, you can't come round here with your positive IW posts. Any negative Treyarch comments will be reported and Baryonyx will post his fanboi opinion as fact and it must be read as such.

IMO the MW mini series was about as good as CoD has been, the current game is the first Treyarch game I've even vaguely enjoyed (campaign aside).

yes

A google search for "MW2 remake" speaks volumes...

Anyway. Been away for a few days but looking forward to firing up the console for this tonight. I'm curious to see how the weapon re-balance plays out. I had been using the HVK prior to switching to the Gorgon so this may be a case of switching back. smile

The very early days before they killed the 1887's (duals were even better) was possibly the most fun id ever had in a game. So unfair on other people but I didnt care they were unstoppable hehe

hehe

Terminal + ACR + N00b-tube + middle corridor= rage.

Not a COD fanboi at all. I've not bought any version, save for the latest, in years. However, MW2 is the game that turned me into a online player for sure. Before that, excusing a brief play with Battlefront 2 on the PS2, I preferred engrossing single player games and ISS. For that, it holds a special place.

I'd buy a remake in a heartbeat. smile

Sitting here waiting to play online for the first time. It's downloading something or other, the progress indicator climbing form 1 up to around 40% then going into minus figures, then back to 1 again! No idea what's going on.

I didn't even realise I had to pay for online multiplayer via subscription! Gone are the old days of the PS3 I guess. Is 34.99 the cheapest I'm likely to find? I have a 48 hour trial to find the best deal!

Found a code on G2A.com for £28 for the year, will probably go for that.

I have added you kentlad but be warned I'm struggling to get to grips at the moment!

Duals worked better, but you lost the swing-round reload sequence, which was a shame. In hindsight all the shotguns in MW2 were great if you played to their strengths; i seem to remember the SPAS-12 had a massive range, for example. I chalked up 17 days in MW2, which was a long way behind some other people on here. Great game and as others have said, i'd buy it tomorrow if re-released for the PS4.

The pump actions shotguns in BO3 have a decent range as well. I wouldn't use one as a primary, but using the 'two primary weapons' wildcard and carrying one as a secondary alongside an assault rifle worked pretty well.

I'm running a ping of 30 on average in a game, and it's just frankly crap.
Some, times I'm hitting someone with an smg and getting a 4 hit kill, the next minute I'm literally emptying a full round into someone to no effect.
I was whining about it last night and got the last kill so the slow motion kill cam kicked so you can actually count the number of hits ,using a razorback at point blank which should be a 4 shot kill...8 hits to kill including 3 head shots.
I am making the first shot in about 90% of encounters ,and I hit with my first shots ...but barely win a 1 on 1.
So glad Star Wars is out, this game will be collecting dust soon.A shame as there is some good stuff in it and it may be enjoyable if it worked.

That isn't too bad. Sorry mate, but you haven't added me. That's not my on-line name & i'm on Xbox not PS. Sorry!

Played a few games last night & improved from getting roughly even or just under even K/D to finishing a few games around the 25-30 kill to about 10 deaths. Us oldies aren't completely past it yet!

Yep. I rage quitted again last night, going from 3.0 KD to .5 KD with largely the same lobby and consecutive games. I wouldn't mind but I know I'm not missing - I'm running Kuda, grip, stock and suppressor (no tactical or lethal); the bloody barrel doesn't move off centre even when emptying an entire clip!

It's borked.

It seems to be a *little* better last few days. You still get those lobbies where you know it's a waste of time and it's obvious within the first couple of encounters, so I happily drop out (as my win/loss ratio would confirm). When it's playing nicely I can flit between hardcore search, domination and capture the flag and run around like them olde days.
