I like the AI changes on PVE and don't understand what all the whining is about on the forums. Easy mode is still easy but medium mode can now be lost fairly easily if you have a muppet team and you're not in a brawler yourself. Still good fun though and I've yet to have a rage quit moment like I had every 15 mins when playing WOT.

Playing my Type 59 a lot at the moment to get more credits (just bought the Fox and like it!). I'm finding I'm running out of ammo on the Type 59 quite often even though I'd say a good 95% of my shots (mainly HEAT then AP) are going in for full damage. The 40 shell load out is pretty bad.

It's a lot less stressful than WoT and the vehicles are nicer to play.

You need to add the "Low Tier Field Maintenance Kit" consumable to your Type 59, which restores 20% of your health back and all your ammunition when you activate it. It only works in PvE and is 4,000 credits a go.

I fit this or the equivalent to all my vehicles at tier 3 and above.

AW has not gone the way I expected, its bland to me, and MM is as bad as WOT.

It does have some pros, but not enought to keep me interested in more than a few games a week.

I enjoy it when once I fire it up but like you, I'm finding myself not interested enough to play it most of the time. I can't really pinpoint what it is as I enjoy the PVE games.

Are you still hacking away at it Beati?

Those moments when you very quickly want to getmecoat and leave :

Just started PVE on Rolling Thunder in my Fox - I'm the only tier 5 in the game. Set off from spawn across the bridge and turned a bit too much, straight over the edge of the bridge and dead. boxedin The chat comments weren't pretty. hehe

Ooops. The snap oversteer on those things is vicious.

I'm still playing. I've just got my first tier 7, the Leopard 2 MBT:

Nice tenk!

I am getting REALLY pissed off with people capping in PVE. Fair enough if everyone low health or only a couple of tanks left, but we have 5 tanks left and we're all still full health. irked

That is annoying, as is triggering the cap before people are ready. They've changed a few maps now so that's less of an issue.

I like the Leopard series of tanks, but I got the Leopard 2 first so I can unlock the Chrome Barrel Lining Mk3 to use on my other tanks. It increases damage by almost 5% and reduces the aiming circle by 15%.

I have all the vehicles up to tier 5, but the only regular tier 6s are the Centauro, Leopard AV, T-72A and the Stingray.

I'd like to get the T-80, but tank destroyers are 30% off at the moment, so I will likely get one of those next.

Does designated a target in PVE do anything? I know in PVP if you hold down the key it gives them a yellow box for a while and everyone who hits it does max damage roll but what about in PVE? What does just tapping the key do?

It does the same and it looks like you get credited with the spotting damage. I always try to do it if I can.

One thing I don't use enough of is the smokescreen. I've played too much WoT to remember I have them now.

I'm still learning all the time. I only recently realised you get a credit reward for playing at least one easy, medium and hard game every day. Duh.

Interestingly, some of the tier 6 and upward MBTs can also fire missiles from their gun barrel. They take longer to load, but they hit pretty hard and you steer them in flight like other missiles. The T-72A gets them, as does the Leopard 2.

Have you been upgrading your base? Some of the tier 5 upgrades take 10 days to build! eek

I asked the question on the forums and apparently just tapping the key doesn't do anything, despite it making the 'blip' noise. You must hold it down for 2 seconds to get the yellow box in order to keep them lit up and have max damage rolls.

Oh I see what you mean. Yes you have to hold the key down until it makes a sort of bluuup noise and the yellow marker will stay over the tank for 30 seconds or so.

There's a cool down of a minute or two until you can use it again.

I only found out about that today.

The Starship at tier 4 has that ability. Problem with the missiles is that they take an age to reload.

I didn't know about the credit reward thing either.

The Fox has a 6 or 7 shot auto-cannon and also can carry 10 front mounted ATGMs which really rack up your damage done. I like to fire them up in the air at nothing and then guide them down on top of the MBTs for full damage. If you just direct them to them frontally you'll often not pen. Does take quite a bit of practice to do though. Also the constant load-out switching back and forth between the auto-cannon and ATGMs can get a bit confusing at times.

I must be doing something right because I'm top performer for XP in the vast majority of PVE games I play.

Has anyone actually shelled out any real money on the game yet? I've been mulling whether to "harden" my LAV300 into premium status for more credits as I like it a lot and do really well with it. I just can't rack up the same amount of damage in the Type 59 and I don't particularly enjoy the MBT play style. I prefer my TDs and AFVs. yes

With missile/gun armed AFVs I like to have a missile loaded first with the gun queued up next (by pressing 1 once, just like WoT). This one-two punch is really deadly. You should get the tier 5 Begleitpanzer, that's a total beast with that technique. Its gun is much better than the Fox too. My highest PvE kill score using this is now 26 with the BMD-2 at tier 5.

I haven't made any regular tanks into premiums yet, but I did buy a premium tier 6 light tank and tier 4 TD.

Oh and never sell any tanks. You get substantial credit rewards when you hit certain numbers owned and in every battle you'll get a slight bonus to XP and credits the more you have too.

True, but that's one weird tank with the 152mm derp gun from the Sheridan. It's not something you'd expect on a conventional MBT. I had no idea the Leopard 2 could do it for example. It can fire the Israeli LAHAT missile apparently.

I only use the missiles if I remember to and have the time to reload. So a gap defending caps really.

Not played for a while but spent about 6 hours on it last night playing mainly my Fox to get enough credits to buy the ERC TD and of course also get XP to unlock the VBL. Not running premium but now at about 55% on my Fox and need about another 500k coins frown to get to 1.92m. Getting really good with it now and regularly get "well played Foxy!" comments or similar from other players at the end of the games which is nice! spin

Have any of you found out that you can drive right up on to the very top of the mountain in the SW corner of Perseus PVE ? It's not an easy to find way up, but if you drive behind the defence point for the second wave of spawns you can only get so far on the grassy bit before it becomes too steep. If you then turn left away from the mountain there's a few big rocks in the way which looks like you can't get across but if you're in a wheeled vehicle you can. Then once over those turn right and drive up the mountain right on the back side (your tank will slide sideways but some rocks will stop it from going too far) then just keep the gas pedal nailed and you can drive all the way to the top and then light up absolutely everything coming to the wave 2 cap and also the last wave 3 cap in the centre west side too. I did just short of 10k actual damage in a tier 3 game in my XM800T with auto-cannon gun which if you've ever played that is an absolutely insane amount of damage. hehe I forgot to look how much spotting "damage". You need to use an AFV up there or something with a lot of view range.

Some people on the forums seem to think AFVs are ineffective and that you need a MBT for everything. They're wrong. With the XP bias towards spotting, it's easy to make points with AFVs and tank destroyers. If you know what you're doing, the auto-cannon ones are downright OP as well.

I've "elited" my Fox now. Have been playing for about 12 hours nonstop yikes. I really like it, probably my favourite tank at the moment. I'm usually either 1st or 2nd for XP earned and 2nd or 3rd on damage, occasionally 1st but rare when you've got MBTs on your team. I've bought the ERC now but don't reckon much to it. Seems to be a step down after the LAV300. Also bought the BMP-1P and don't think much of that either. Single ATGM and a slow reload on the normal gun coupled with less armour than an AFV it seems. Doesn't seem to be much to like about either of them.

By the way I'm starting to think that you're not meant to get up on top of the mountain on Perseus now because I've tried it several times today in my Fox and keep falling in a hole that you can't get out of when crossing the rocks before the final ascent. I'm sure that wasn't there before! Would like to explore the maps without playing an actual game to get the know where the best spots are but don't think you can do it?

I've elited my Fox too, but not bought the VBL yet (or VPL as I keep calling it (Visible Panty Line in case you didn't know biggrin).

The ERC is pretty OP actually. Quick, good gun depression, hits hard and has a fast reload.

The BMP-1P is OK, but crap gun depression like all the BMPs. The BMD series are better over all.

You can set up a training room like "custom match" at the top of the screen, but only on the PVP maps so far.
