Indeed - I've already owned a standard FD (Series 6, I think) and have decided to import a Spirit R - one of my realistic dream cars biggrin
I've not actually sourced one yet - but I'm looking!

What spec is your 7? Whats being done to it that's taking so long!?
Good choice! About as beautiful as cars come from the factory!

Mines a '92 Type-R. It's in for a rebuild and street-porting along with some 99-spec bits fitting. Not sure it should have taken four months so far though!

I'm only at the very start but really like it so far.

Started with the Civic, won 2 races, bought an AE86, spent ages making a proper black/white panda paint scheme, sold a load of the free parts I got from preordering and started tuning it.

Well I love it so far. The cutscenes are cheesy, the racing is super arcadey, but for me it still captures the old NFSU vibe. Even the police aren't a huge bother (something I've never liked in NFS) as they're easily evaded.

I'm level 16 now, have an AE86 set to full drift, a GT2'd 993 for full grip, and this morning before work I did a few races and bought an RX7.

Looks epic, didn't get it last night so hopefully will do today! I think work tomorrow is going to be hard wink What is the AI like? Seem the really bad from reports on there, but a friend who played the beta said it was just like Rivals which wasn't that bad.

I haven't played an NFS since Carbon, and only 'properly' played the Undergrounds.

The AI seems pretty retarded, if I'm honest. There are times when I can overtake 4 opponents from miles back, and other times when they'll fly off into the distance.

All I'd say is go into it with the expectation that game is just a bit of fun. The cars and customisation is really good IMO, the racing is pure silliness.

I don't really have any complaints about it, except maybe the 'always online' thing - I got kicked back to the main menu a couple of times last night when it lost connection with the EA servers. But I've put in a good 5 hours so far and had no major hiccups so it's all good.

Yeah rubber banding AI was mentioned, my friend insists it's only as bad as it was in Rivals (& the 2012 version of Most Wanted) which I've played and was able to manage.

Not long now, 3hrs and I'll be home smile Have you got anymore car pictures to share?

I'm loving it, so far. The main criticism from the journey is the FMV scenes' cheesiness. They obviously never played the original 3DO game as FMV cheesiness is absolutely an NFS must!

Stunning graphics, decently weighty yet accessible handling (with the option to switch off assists) and just great fun. Lightweight fluff, in some ways, but I really like it. Also reminds me as much as the old Tokyo Highway Battle games on Dreamcast and i loved those too. Currently own a BRZ that I added the Subaru WRC livery (badly) to, and a Focus RS that's currently putting out 450bhp.

I'll post some more pics tonight, need to build up the RX7 then I might pick up a Hakosuka.

Shame there's not an actual Photo Mode though, the thumbstick camera is a bit basic and trying to that and the 'snap' button while getting a decent photo location is a bit annoying. The garage camera seems the best way to take shots.

Just had the email from Sony suggesting i buy this game.

Have always been a medium fan of the NFS franchise as it was often bettered by Gran Turismo & the like so never bought all of them.

Is this one worthy of a few ££'s or is it still either too easy/too hard/poor graphics/bad gameplay? Don't get me wrong, a couple of the series were quite good fun in small doses, just hard to get submerged into pretty much all of them.

If you want it because you love NFS and customising cars, buy it now. But from what I can tell updates will improve this game as time goes on, and with Fallout out next week, it's not a bad idea to wait until it's cheaper.

Got Black Ops III coming tomorrow so perhaps waiting a while for NFS may be a good idea. Don't think i've ever played Fallout, is a goodun?

The main thing letting the game down for me is the always online requirement.

It serves no benefit. Not being able to just put the game on and mess around cruising the city while not being online sucks.

This evening I've done 4 races and spebt about 20k on my RX7, suddenly the game kicked me back to the main menu, I rejoined and it hadn't saved my progress. Now I'm back in I cant even buy car parts, it keeps saying 'purchase failed'.

Talk about overcomplicating things...
