To be fair visually I wouldn't want to, I meant more under the bonnet.

Yeah the rubber banding is a PITA, never been a fan of that in racing games. I was hoping this would scratch my Forza Horizon/Free roam car game/customising itch and it does a little bit. But I really just want Horizon 2 even more now! Should have never got a PS4...rolleyes

I still play occasionally, you really can't do much to the later cars other than decals and paint which is abit of a shame. Some of the updates are nice though, a snapshot mode and repairing your car going into fuel stations.

For the handling you should try and set your car up in to be on the 2nd blip on the "drift" side of the tuning slider, then make sure you put grip tyres on (leave the drift ones out). Make sure "drift stability control" or w/e it's called is on and away you go.
You might fine you need to fine tune the slider around the 2nd blip but you'll be thereabouts. What I found with this setup is that you can hold some pretty epic slides very easily without crashing but you maintain the straightline grip when hammering through gentle corners.

Good luck smile

Thanks for the tip. I still have the one starter car (BRZ) at the moment, but I'm thinking of saving up and keep doing races for now. Once I've got enough, buy a second car and either use the BRZ for drifting or the second car. Problem is picking that car!

Apparently there is going to be an update today, introduces Hot Rods and supposedly Drag Racing, although the latter isn't confirmed yet.

Oh cool, I have to admit I don't follow the updates. For my cars I had an AE86 first, then I made that drifty and bought a R32 GTR. I didn't really need any cars after that lol

Full update notes below. Highlights are manual transmission, Hot Rods, Drag Racing and you can now have 10 cars. Turns out it's actually Thursday not today, but close enough....

Yay! I came here to see if there was any news after I thought I'd misred something earlier!

The auto-tragic transmission was what ruined it for me and I stopped playing after a short while. I'm definitely getting back on it tonight. Any guesses how long the download will take?! I'm going with 2 hours knowing PSN of late...

It's 2GB, mine took about 30mins give or take some. Wasn't too bad at all.

As for the content, it's not a lot...But it is free so I won't complain too much. Did my first drag race and to be honest it's a bit meh really. It's nice to have a new event but it just wasn't particularly fun, doesn't compare to previous drag races in the series.

In other news, I bought an NSX and got rid of the BRZ. I was hoping to buy a Fairlady for drifting events but I went a bit mad on performance mods with the NSX biggrin

Well I thought the addition of the Manual transmission option basically changed the game for me. I was ready to trade it in against FarCry Primal this weekend, but put in about 5 hours last night!

Manual just adds some more involvement to the game for a petrolhead. Since a lot of the events can mean driving 6+ miles it gives you something more to do. Holding onto gears through corners must make you quicker, even in this heavily-arcade like game.

I've gained a 993 GT2 (in clubsport blue) and an R32 GTR, both of which have probably had 70k sunk into them for performance! The 993 is fantastic, the R32 was a little disappointing though.

One thing that messed me up was other online players having private races on the same roads as I was completing campaign challenges. I think this 'social' aspect is a bit crap really, especially when you're doing well in a race only to have a head-on collision with another online player out of nowhere!!

I did an online race against those super hot rods in my R32 and of course they all disappeared into the distance. The dude in the 911 took exception to me drifting round all the corners and so rammed me, chump. Wish this wasn't online and I could change the music frown

In more positive news I forgot I had so much money, so now to add to my AE86 & R32 I've picked up the following:

RX-7 - The Fast & The Furious scheme
JAZ80 Supra - The Fast & The Furious scheme
R34 GTR - 2fast 2furious scheme
Viper - Team Orca
Hot Rod - in green

I also had a look for a decent Calsonic skin for the R32 as I'd done one but I don't think it's very good, but at least it's accurate compared to the the others I found frown I've shared mine just for funzies see if anyone downloads it. A whole 2 people downloaded my AE86 Initial D skin lol

I'm late to the game on this and after trialing it on the Xbox I opted to buy it on the PS4. the graphics are Epic!!

Really enjoying it and have bought the BRZ and and now the Exige to be different.

Only down side has been mentioned before, other online players being on the routes of races, hopefully something they can fix with the a DLC pack/update.

Picked this up in the Jan PSN sale. It's quite good fun to pick and play with a pad when there is the time to get serious with the wheel and project cars.

Does this still have major rubber banding issues?

Bought it on release and sold it a few days later. Can remember a 1 on 1 race and I sat behind the other car on purpose and it never went over 30 mph. Overtook it on the final straight to win wink
