I was going to ask my folks for a ps4 this Christmas (I'm favourite child so always spoilt) just so I could play this game after seeing how it looked.

I'd like to think I wasn't so shallow and would be more willing to give such an amazing-looking game a chance to prove its worth, especially with the inclusion of that RX-7...but I can't bring myself to play without being able to switch gears myself. I'm not 8.

Why bother going to the expense of getting the likes of Speedhunters involved and recording engine sounds so fastidiously only to go and make it play like a child's game? Appealing to a specific audience but not actually listening to what they wanted.

I see the Call of Duty franchise is still being ruined by adding things the audience don't want too. I wonder how long it will be before this onslaught of sh*te games ends?

Speedhunters was created and is owned by EA by the way.

I share your annoyance about the lack of manual, but playing the beta it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. The game isn't at all serious, very arcadey.

I'm buying it purely to modify cars really.

Absolutely, and I'm sure I could lose many hours doing just that. Is it also true that there will be a limit of 5 cars which you can store though? Seems counter productive to offer such a fruitful list of cars but limit your virtual garage to just a handful.

I think lots of people would appreciate a remaster of the original NFS Underground games, which has been said for many years, but those calls aren't being heard by the developers.

Yep, 5 car limit to 'make you connect and customise each car more'.

This game is much better than a remaster of a NFSU would be, and is essentially what it is anyway.

Yes the story is absolutely awful to the point of cringeworthy, and the handling is a bit off, but purely as a game to street race, drift etc, and customise cars using real world parts to create real world styles, it's bang on.

Mine was dispatched last night so hoping it arrives tomorrow morning smile Interesting on the 5 car limit, the previous referenced friend said that you can tune the handling to be "grip" or "slip" and not much in between, seems like a good excuse to have your grip cars and your slip cars for different events smile

5 cars for different race modes/styles. One for drifting, one for actual racing etc. The hard part comes deciding which cars to choose!

Alot of mail order retailers do that, it's so that you have it for midnight on the day of release and don't miss out compared to those that will queue up at the store.

Game used to do it, then stopped, and now do it sporadically. Rockstar are the only company I've heard who forbid Game to do it (it was the same for Amazon iirc) when GTAV came out on PS3/360.

I think that's a function of the IW / Treyarch turn-about production. Now we're back to Treyarch we should be laughing.

Amazon just emailed me to say it has been dispatched!

Not too fussed it won't arrive today, after all the poor reviews don't exactly fill me with excitement!

Precisely! smile

I'll be honest, I don't even want NFS - but I have no plans this weekend and will end up going insane waiting for F4 biggrin

Rogue, you didn't happen to review this on Car Throttle too did you?

Otherwise, its an amazing coincidence that two people have mentioned a late spec RX-7 being included! smile

Despite all the negative reviews, I'm still buying this just for the RX-7 Spirit R... I'm trying to import one at the moment and would love to drive it digitally. I am so sad! frown
Yeah that was my review they featured. I've got an RX7 in-build at the moment and I've been joking since July that I would get to drive one in NFS before my real one was ready - seems I was right! Off-topic but is it a Spirit-R you're importing?

Indeed - I've already owned a standard FD (Series 6, I think) and have decided to import a Spirit R - one of my realistic dream cars biggrin
I've not actually sourced one yet - but I'm looking!

What spec is your 7? Whats being done to it that's taking so long!?

Forbid they did. Still had my copy of GTA V 4 days before release from Amazon tongue out
