Glad the karts were on my week away, don't get on with them at all. So, what's this weeks combo? I'm keen, got an extra day off tomorrow so hoping to get some more time on the wheel. Though I might go out for a real drive if weather is as nice as today driving
What's RL motor?

I got me a shiny lease spec Golf R in Tornado Red smile and I still can't believe that a £30k Golf doesn't come with Nav. I was going to have a blast around Silverstone at the last SS but my son had an entrance exam to sit on that Sunday, and I had my brothers kids because both him and his missus were working all weekend. I even had my black/red insulation tape all ready smile

Golf R in black smile love it. Had a great drive on Monday, all over Dorset. Decent weather, apart from the fog at Shaftsbury but other than that it was perfect. I need more days off on my own. I chose DSG for first time ever as I have a traffic filled commute... Have you tried launch control yet? It's something else. Admittedly, my quickest previous car was a Mk6 GTI so I'm bound to be impressed, but it is bloody quick.

...Also found time on Monday for a few laps. Not getting on with this though. Enjoyable enough but just can't improve on a pretty lame time.

Interest seems to be slipping lately, wonder if people are bored of Project Cars by now. For the record, I'm up for more TTs if the interst is there.

And I wonder if we might organise a race for the PC crowd. We're evenly matched on some tracks and cars so could be fun (I know other combos you guys steam ahead of me). I'd be up for an hour or so on an occasional Monday.

I went manual and after a test drive in the dsg gti I think it was the right choice. I tried a manual launch in mine, maxed revs, sc off and dumped the clutch...it bogged down really badly, and all I could smell was clutch burn for about 10 minutes, disappointing.

I've had mine since July and have only just broken 2k miles...I really need to get out in it more. I ordered in October last year and in between that and delivery found and bought a house closer to a train station, I could walk but then the car would be wasted...im toying with the idea of driving halfway and catching the train further on just to put some miles in.

Try and make an hour or two for yourself to get it out in the countryside when you can, that's when I most enjoy mine smile Don't get me wrong, I don't floor it everywhere, but on a quiet morning you can normally find somewhere safe to, um, explore its potential smile

I'm in two minds about DSG. It works almost faultlessly but I think I would have preferred the manual. However, town driving is so easy with DSG. I only went for the DSG as my last car was a manual 4 pot diesel (hideous, hideous thing but light on BiK). It drove me mad for three years so I was blindly committed to having an auto this time around.

I'll look you up on Steam and maybe we'll get a race in at some point with any other PC players who fancy it.

I think they've nailed the feeling of rearward weight distribution, I've never driven the real thing, but compared to other cars in game that are front engined RWD, the back end feels less stable in the bends. It's great fun to control the weight shift through a series of corners when you get it right, but boy can this baby bite ya.
