Finally got the power supply through for my t500 wheel. I guess I'm going to be slower for a while until I get the hang of it, but who cares...I'm so excited about trying it out tonight I could pee. smile

Just managed to take it smile
I am annoyed that it shows a custom setup however when I specifically did a reset.
That said I have setup keyboard mappings to turn on/off the TC/SC which I did at the start of the run, I wonder if that causes it to record it as a custom setup?
I must say though I used to hate this track, but now I'm finding the first sector really gratifying when you hook it up properly and hit the corners right carrying just the right amount of boost biggrin

Nice time Tron smile

I can get within half a second with the new setup, but not consistently yet. I think I was lapping for a good hour the other night to set that time. Don't know if I'll manage that again this week.

Maybe something a bit slower for the Christmas challenge, so I'm not swearing quite so much lol

Popular combo, top time is a 1:50.1, I don't think I can go 3 seconds faster.

Loving the new wheel, but had some weird FFB glitch last night. Never had any problems with the G27, but T500 is known to have heat issues, I hope I don't have to strip it down and mod the fans, that would be a PITA.

Yeah some fantastic times at the top, cannot get anywhere near them right now.
With regards to the heat issue on the T500, I remember seeing somone actually water cooled it!

I'm not very techy tbh, so if I have to strip it down I'll be papping myself in case I make a mess of it...it's not a cheap bit of kit, even second hand. If I break it I'll be gutted.

To test it, I'm going to run a full evening in AC, then test out Rockingham in LFS S3 for a full evening(I can't believe it's finally appeared but hey), then finally a full evening in Project Cars. I'm hoping it's a game related glitch rather than hardware. If it happens only in Project Cars I will be disappointed, but nowhere near as much as if it's hardware.

Folks, just picked up a copy on the PS4 and am really struggling with the handling. I've read the guides online and adjusted the settings but it still feels a bit wooden and spins at odd times.

Am I just crap or am I doing something wrong?

Apologies if this is in the wrong place but you all must be able to finish a lap!

Practice practice practice. It's a hard game.

The sense of speed is deceptive, you can't just plough into corners. Brake early and take corners slowly then build up speed. It just takes practice, and if you can get a wheel then it's bloody brilliant.

Cheers, been playing all afternoon and finding it slightly less frustrating! Just thought I might have been doing something wrong as the controller settings are confusing.

Thanks.

If it was too easy it wouldn't be half as satisfying when you nail a good lap smile

No not keen on karts myself, and my brain can't compute downforce at all, just had a session in Formula C on Laguna seca with derwin's, he won and I came 12th behind all the AI set at 80%... me no likey downforce. frown

The super carts are fun. Loads of lateral grip and quite direct steering.

I'm not a huge fan of lateral grip, on the latest combo I'm quicker once the rear tyres cool off and I can slide the rear more. Seems odd in a FWD Focus RS but racing with Derein last night before the FC debacle, he was keeping up with me until lap4 then suddenly I could go a second quicker. The fact I binned it and he won anyway despite me chasing hard on the last lap made it all that much more fun smile

Ha, must say I felt (a little) bad about that. Good race though. I did see you start to pull away and no matter what I did, even though I was keeping consistent lap times, I just couldn't keep up. I think that's the difference with downforce cars and hot hatches etc for me. I seem to be able to always get faster in a FC for instance, always something different to try on a corner. But I hit a wall/run out of ability in most tin tops and that's usually at about a second slower per lap than everyone else!

Great racing, apart from the evil AI on Laguna Seca. bd just rammed me straight off on a corner during qually. Anyone would think it was a public lobby with driving like that.

Will post my TT time later...

Had another go last night, three lap race on the Ring in the RUF GT3 - really, really good game.

Thanks again as I've haven't played any games for years and would have discarded it had I not posted here. It really does take practice.
