When Juan Manuel Fangio won his greatest race, the 1957 German GP at the Nurburgring he pitted for a new wheel on lap 13, he was 30 seconds ahead of the chasing Peter Collins and Mike Hawthorn, but due to a lost wheel nut the stop took that 30 seconds plus another 48 seconds. He left the pits and over the next 10 laps he broke the lap record 9 times, 7 times consecutively. On the penultimate lap he caught and passed Hawthorn and went on to win the race.

He said in an interview after how he did it, he decided to take many of the corners in a higher gear than before.

Try that, it's what I do to try and go quicker

If you are doing what I think you may be doing I bet there are 4 corners you can do it on.

This car loves to understeer if you get on the throttle too quickly, it straightens rather than bringing the rear around, taking a little adapting!

I think the S1 improvement was through T3 (Graham Hill bend) just clipping the inside kerb without running wide on the exit and T4 (Surtees onto the long straight) braking earlier than my head wants to and being on the throttle as early as possible. T5 Hawthorn bend wasn't my best but I think I nailed Dingle Dell corner (T7) and T9 Clearways.

She's a beaut mate, let's throw another shrimp on the barbie and hit the mountain.

Really nicely balanced, I like this and the GT4 cars, not much aero, plenty of grunt with a bit of slide. Great fun!

I'm off to Bannochbrae for some more fun now
