Question for those of you with a wheel... do you mount it to a desk or use a playseat ?

I bought a wheel a while ago, but it's a PITA putting it on the desk and... if you use a typical office chair I tend to find when using pedals I somewhat... roll back in the chair smile

Biggest issue with a playseat is, they aren't high enough to then use the monitor on my desk so I've never bought one which has someone killed racing games for me, I'm looking to get a vive or rift soon, if they work well with racing games then could use a playseat and VR headset which would probably work well, just curious to know how you're all using the wheel setups ?

I use one of these but it's hooked up to a PS & XBox in front of a wall mounted TV, set at the correct height for the seat... So not really an issue for me.

I used to use a playseat office chair, which was high enough that I was pushing down on the pedals more so less tendency to move them or myself although a deeper pile carpet helped. Now I'm all set up with a gt omega rig and wheel permanently fixed in place in my man cave which is awesome and no faffing about.

Not getting on well with this little Audi.
Sliding all over the place - always in the wrong gear frown

More laps required I think!

Damn, I have a dilemma...I've invested in new screens to go triple, and got a 2nd hand gfx card identical to my existing of fleabay...but pcars uses the gfx cards for physx, which seems to be disabled as soon as SLI is used...so now my CPU is cooking itself when playing PCars (it doesn't happen in Dirt Rally or Assetto Corsa). Cheapest liquid colling is another £100, which I'm going to get earache for spending on top of the splurge last weekend.

Actually as it's an internal component she might never find out...lol

My SLI setup still lets the graphics card do PhysX.

I wouldn't have thought the PhysX stuff should cause the CPU to start cooking itself. What CPU cooler have you got atm?

I've been asking about this elsewhere, PC is about 4yrs old and the suggestion is the thermal paste is past its use by. I've ordered water cooling for £70 to replace the stock fan, which should come with new paste.

I also found there was a turbo mode in the bios which I've disabled and that's helping keep the temps down for the time being as well as just running one card and turning the eye candy down for now.

I'm not going back to single screen now, it's bloody amazeballs....

I use a Corsair H55, with an extra fan (one either side of the radiator) case has a front fan too.

25 degrees, goes up to 33 on normal running, up to 50-55 on heavy gaming use.

I'm confused, how do I mount it, I can either pull cold air through the rad into the case and suck it up through the top fan or pull hot air out of the case through the rad out of the back of the case. Neither seems ideal or am I missing something?

It's an Antec1200 gaming case so plenty of space and a huge fan on top.

Depends how you case is setup, mine is like this. Cold air in through the front (fan) through the case where the air is then drawn out through the radiator. I have 2 fans either side of the radiator (like a sandwich).

If your case is different you can do this, having the radiator at the front which has cool air drawn in and then a fan at the rear blowing it out.

Rear or top, I have a PSU at the top of mine which has another fan extracting air.

All done, back to regular programming. Water cooling fitted, no warning lights and temps stable around 55...

New combo anyone?
