how do I get the Stage times?
Either set up the screen to display them (Options>gameplay>onscreen guides - cycle lap info change to 'on') or if you are on a PC like me and find them distracting they will appear on here - http://cars-stats-steam.wmdportal.com/index.php/le...Hover the mouse over the lap time.

I find the first chicane trouble, the rather odd track limits in some places especially the last chicane which seems to penalise a line taken at the end of a lap but not when you start a TT lap.
It's a Tdi so lots of low down power and torque turn the traction control and ABS on.

Set that time on Monday night and thought I'd try to improve last night, but the game seems to have died on me
Some kind of fatal error it says. Verifying files didn't work so it looks like a re-install is on the cards. Bugger.
I tried it but I can't get the car to get round the hairpin, too much rotation needed on the wheel and I'm not changing the settings ratio. It's not the actual turn on my wheel it's the fast return to straighten it up, I hate the noise my wheel makes (has always made) when ever I need to turn turn it quickly more than 90-110 degrees. So I try not to turn it too far to begin with.
Same, I cannot get the car around the Grand Hotel hairpin consistently, no matter what angle of approach/speed i take and end up hitting the far side marshal exit.
Think my best was a mid 1:38 but i gave up after that because of that corner.
We have the rest of the week, shall we swap the 78?

Track is fine, its just the horrendous understeer at that particular point with that particular car that really kills it for me.
Happy to move to another track if required though.
Horrendous understeer means you're going too fast lol...it is a nightmare for understeer everywhere to be fair though, and I can't understand why once you've slowed down and got the nose in you can't kick the rear round with a squirt of throttle, it just pushes the nose out. All the videos I've seen of these old cars at the hairpin seem to show exit oversteer. I think Derwin's problem is more to do with his wheel rotation and the severity of the hairpin which is partly why I suggested a change.Happy to move to another track if required though.
I would tend to agree with you on the understeer means going to fast but its either a case of going so slow that I loose several seconds to someones elses ghost or ending up in the armco!
Their must be a trick to it or a certain line that you have to follow, but, well, meh I admit defeat

My experience too. It's a tough corner to be consistent on. The only way I managed it was to go half as slow as I think I should be going. You can even turn in too sharply and hit the inside barrier so the 'turning circle' is definitely there. It's not a great tactic for overall time but quicker than bouncing off outside barrier and being out of line for the right hander.Their must be a trick to it or a certain line that you have to follow, but, well, meh I admit defeat
