Project Cars Weekly TIme Trail
Discussion
Hello strangers...anybody up for a time trial ?
Anybody having problems with Logitech wheels in Win10? I just built my son a PC for his birthday and can't get either the dfgt or g27 to work properly, there is some discussion over in projectcarsgame forums but it seems to be a win10/Logitech driver issue. I'm ok with my t500 but I want to race against the boy

Yep, choose a combo and i'm in
My G27 runs ok in Windows 10, however when I updated the logitech software it did cause some issues.
IIRC it was reporting the G27 as a more basic model and wouldn't work in game properly.
The fix was to totally remove the G27 from the hardware manager, including the driver and then re plug in the wheel and let it auto update the driver.
Worked a charm after that.
I do however get an odd issue every now and then, all of a sudden the wheel will become very sensitive and the amount of input at the wheel is tiny compared to the expotential movement in game, a reboot fixes it though. Very infrequent, once every couple of months.

A little downforce but not too much power, nice little car this one to get back into the groove.

Normal service resumes eh Tronny, I noticed you were playing f1 2015 earlier mate, is it any good, I've heard some rubbish reports and found 2014 a nightmare to get the wheel set up and working right! I do like an f1 game (guilty pleasure) despite my loathing of downforce...
I'm dropping many strong hints that Santa should bring me an oculus rift for Christmas...

Yes the wheel settings do take some time to workout.
Here is the settings I use: http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/f1-2015-logi...
Although I'm not sure if you have the equivalent in the logitech profiler with the Thrustmaster?
Some parts of the game I love and some parts I hate and I just wish they would fix some of the bugs that have been around for years and years.
The driving aspect I feel is spot on and you have to be very, very careful on the throttle in the lower gears comming out of corners, short shifting is your friend
After watching the real F1 and seeing the throttle input by some of the drivers this really correlates into what sort of throttle input you need to be using in game, which i guess you would hope was correct.
But do expect to spend a couple of laps doing donuts befoer you calibrate your right foot...
If you are tempted I would suggest waiting for the 2016 release: http://store.steampowered.com/app/391040/
That said their is a bundle for 15&16 which is only a tenner more than 16 alone.
I am really looking forward to 16 as its supposed to be a rewrite of the grahics and physics engine, rather than a data update for the current season.
I'm still torn over investing in an Oculus or a Fanatec setup to get the pedal feedback.
Probably get the Fanatec setup first and wait for 2nd gen VR.

Looking forward to driving again soon. Project Cars hasn't worked for a long time, but I have finally got it to boot. Didn't have time to drive but I think it will be ok as the issue was that it just wouldn't load.
Problem is, I, um, accidentally bought a Vive this morning Next day delivery, so I'll probably spend the weekend setting it up rather than playing.
Was waiting for Oculus as most games I play will be seated, but then I heard how Oculus Home is a bit crappy and uses a different version of Project Cars with different online lobbies. And all my gaming is through Steam really. Oh, and the family might enjoy the room scale Vive stuff, which will mean breaking the news I have spent ridiculous money on a gadget a little easier.
Anyway, expect my times to suffer when I finally do get back in the driving seat, but good call on getting the time trials started again.

I think I could get a high 1.39, I keep messing up the 3rd corner from last.

Quote of the year... "I accidentally bought a Vive!"
Lol, you sir are a legend, that's the kind of thing I do. SWMBO rolls her eyes and mumbles a bit but ultimately she lets me have my toys...
I want a full review DR or an invite over to have a go
Well the news went down ok at home, especially with step lad. OH was interested, until I mentioned the cameras had to be installed. Oops.Lol, you sir are a legend, that's the kind of thing I do. SWMBO rolls her eyes and mumbles a bit but ultimately she lets me have my toys...

Anyway it's arrived at work, so will probably be in a 100 pieces by the time I've finished with setting it up tonight.
Will report back on Project Cars performance. I have a slight feeling that I may be underwhelmed by the resolution and will probably have to play on low/medium with a 970, but expecting the experience itself to be mega. Unless of course I turn out to be one of those who
