Sadly the times not as hot as the weather, I blame driving in flipflops

Tough one this.
Biggest place I loose time is on the hairpin and up the hill. Tried left foot braking, clutch kicking, early apex, late apex.
Just cannot get the boost in early enough, still time yet though

Getting there!
Lost a 10th in the last sector over my previous best grr...
I just knocked a whole 1/100th off my time, I was 1/4 second up but lost it all in the last corner. I'm finding that if I just keep driving the balance of grip eventually comes to me, new best lap was no.13 of my run. Laps 3-10 were awful but then it just started to drift a little and it all came together.
Some combos need a restart to get the best tyre grip, this one seems to be the opposite, might just be me getting into the groove though.

I think I'm having to bow out of this one. I just can't see where I can improve; a 'perfect' lap of best sectors may get me a couple of tenths but I've already done enough laps!
One car I was using yesterday that was great fun was Ford V8 Supercar. That's probably my favourite car in the game. Big power, not too much grip ==> fun!

I'm finding the opposite, after 3~4 lap my rears are going cold. Perhaps I'm not driving it hard enough!
Yeah, I get that too but as the fronts wear down the grip balance front to rear comes to me, and once the car slides more I seem to be able to find more speed. I know it sounds weird but that's what's happening. Laps 3-10 I can't get within half a second of my time, but then it just comes to me. By lap15 it's gone though.Doing these TT's is making me find out loads about this game and the G29.
So my latest lesson from last night - Brake temp,
I watched a couple of your chaps videos and also saw the comments about brake temp. So changed the HUD to view to the tyres/brakes (first time I used it). Now could quite clearly see how cold the brakes are on lap 1. But also I noticed on the red brake bar I was leaving a chunk of brake travel - was only going about 70% red unless I'm literally stamping on the pedal every corner. Think that when I setup my pedals for the G29 that's what I did - pressed down the pedal hard and as far as possible. But things is I never drive like that, too tiring and would prob break the pedals.
So recalibrated the pedal and now the brake bar goes fully red when I want which means I can now get temp in the brakes - lopped 1.5s off the time, lesson learnt.

That's probably my limit.
Tron, have you tried PC on the Vive yet? What do you think?

Yeah it's really good
As you said the only issue with ProjectCARS is the resolution makes it quite hard to pick out a distant apex.
Only time I get a little twinge in my gut is when making fast direction changes or getting some slip angle while on the power
How adjustable are the lenses to cope with contacts glasses? As you said the only issue with ProjectCARS is the resolution makes it quite hard to pick out a distant apex.

I'm really thinking I will hold off for the next iteration, I'm reading lots of reviews most are saying the technology is not quite where it needs to be just yet.
Not sure if you still follow LFS B2BS but a few on there where saying the biggest problem is the lack of field of view, close racing means you are constantly having to move your head around to check mirrors, glance at the car next to you etc, where as in reality you would see these in your peripheral vision. I'm not sure how this relates in PCars though nor have I any first hand experience of it but thought it was worth mentioning.
With the Vive you dont set the depth of the lens, only the width.
I dont know how this would work with contacts, can only suggest you try one.
With regards to the other comment; I think that games that are built for VR are excellent, The Lab, Fantastic Contraption, AudioSheild etc are really good examples.
ProjectCARS has not been specifically built for VR and certainly their HUD implementation needs some work. Perhaps their is some optimisation they could perform but you still have the problem your specifically looking into the distance for a pin point. This was in the Lotus as its close to the ground and its fast sweeping corners, but is better when your sat up higher.
What i would say is, that all said, it is still very very good.
