I got into the 1:34's on the PS4 with G29, but I need to tweak the FFB to my liking. My seating position is a bean bag and the kids small desk so not ideal. I have a cunning plan to improve the seating arrangement, but I will need to do some tweaking for the FFB, I will look back through this thread as I'm sure peeps have posted FFB settings previously. Overall the game feels very similar on PC and PS4, although the triple screen setup on PC is a big improvement. I need to pick up AC to compare that as well.

Don't think I can go quicker. Potential shows 1.34 something but no way I can string together all my best sectors in one lap. Found it extremely frustrating but fun at the same time. No clue how you guys get another 6 seconds. Tried looking at the video posted and couldn't even take the first corner the same without crashing :-).

Love the game though.

Talking about FFB, I have had to setup a new PC as my old one died a horrible death.
Then I remembered this post: http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22...

It really shouldn't be that complex in this day and age laugh

I remember with LFS just setting my FFB to 200% Force in game and it was fine with the G25. Now you need a Masters degree just to be able to set your FFB up!

Totally agree. Came across a brilliant rant around this which summed up my thoughts better than I ever could,

"It is like they've said "Yeah, we don't really know how to do force feedback. Here's the tools, you do it". Many of these settings should be tucked away in an advanced menu that the average user never need touch. The settings should also all be available from a single menu that is accessible from the pits. I am finding it hard to believe after all this time in development and with all the community input that this is what they arrived at."

It went on,
"This stuff should be setup out of the box. We shouldn't have to go on the net, download or printout settings from a forum member and enter them in for each car. Most of these settings, as I said, should be tucked away in an advanced menu that only the people that like tweaking should ever need to use."

I've read so much around this that I just got confused and I'm a software developer ffs (obviously my career will continue to stay away from the development of driving sims as it appears I know F'all).

To be fair the Jack Spade tweaker files do this on the PC version. As a community project it was a case of, well he's doing a good job and everyone likes them so we'll leave it to him. The basic/default FFB settings are meant for stable out of the box (and usually pad) gamers which the majority of PS/XB players are. I don't think they really expected it to sell as well as it has on consoles, or create the boom in steering wheel sales (Logitech had announced they were stopping making them until PC and AC hit the shelves and started making a splash remember). Rather than putting lipstick on the pig as it were, PCars2 will (hopefully) have solutions to a lot of the current shortcomings.

The budget for PCars started at 3.5m Eur (but they blew that), the next iteration will have a lot more spent on it after the success of the first game. A recent post by Head of Studio said they have 7 months of QA in the plan. Fingers crossed the game breaking issues experienced (particularly on XBOne) won't happen next time around. Add in Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini, lots of new tracks and dirt racing...personally I can't wait. I can however see how poeple were annoyed with the announcement of PCars2 at a time when there were so many issues with the current game.

On PS4 I just turned the FFB down, tweaked the master settings in line with some I found on the forum and robert's your mother's brother. I'm not tweaking every car, I wouldn't know where to start.

Yes really looking forward to PC2 and hopefully I won't have to worry too much about how my Seat of Pants is feeling wink

So now I've got my steering wheel out again after Christmas are we due a new combo?

Probably due a change unless you want to hang on and we'll go back to doing Sunday to Saturday events again?

I've just had a go on PC2 again tonight, I think September is unlikely for release. Reading around it's more like Sep-17 for pre-order, so release could be as late as Mar-18 maybe. It's looking slick, but it needs a lot of work. AI seems to have been take up a notch, I can't stay with them frown

Dear all, sorry for jumping on your thread, but I'm a mate of Rex218, that I think has done some racing on here.

This is just a short note to invite you to a Project Cars racing group that we've got going. It's very similar to how you've got things running here, but we've setup a website, a program to auto-send your laps to the website from the UDP feed and twitter alerts. There's currently 7 of us but we'd like to have some more people.

Further details and contact details are at this url, http://www.willy-web.com/gt6/pistonheads.html , (website isn't dodgy, my son is called William and I use his domain name).

Anyway, we'd love to have some new players, so hope to hear from some of you soon.

Cheers
Mark

No not at all, we've got PC, PS4 and XBox drivers. It's just the UDP Lap Sender needs to sit on a Windows PC, any old thing that's lying round the house. If you haven't got a Windows PC, then you can add the laps on the website manually, it's just a bit cooler with the PC Lap Updater because all your laps get sent up automatically with split times

Will warn you in advance my internet is a pile of poo, and I race TT mainly because it drops out so often. After 16 years of VM fibre moving to Sky and Openreach FTC has been a massive disappointment. Sadly VM isn't available in the little pocket of houses we're in, even though the VM junction box is closer to our house than the BT one we're plumbed into. Frustrated doesn't even begin to cover it.

You can give the pclapupdater a go, it should barely touch your broadband, it's just pinging a lap time to the website every time you cross the line. Failing that you can add the lap times manually on the website.

Was hoping to only have the not so quick drivers join as I am enjoying being pretty much the fastest when the handicaps are not applied.biggrin Cracking format once handicaps sorted out. Eliminates console variation and means slower drivers have chance of winning. Lap updater records how many laps and theoretical best from all sessions over the 2 weeks. Would be great to have more numbers. (Even the ones that continually top these tables).

I will see if Mark can upload some screenshots of the lap updater program. You can even set it to call out if you are behind or in front of a particular competitor.

I see he has already got some pics up on the link from previous page.
