Project Cars Weekly TIme Trail
Discussion
How on earth do you guys do this!!! I managed 2.32.224 on the Xbone with a pad,and even worse with a G27 on my PC! There's 200 quid down the swanee I suspect
Cant update the table as I'm on my phone, not that it matters,I don't think I will be choosing the track/car combo anytime soon ;D

Kowalski watch the vids it's a tough one. My first go was 2:25 then got
It down with braking and turn in points. Are you using manual or auto
Gears. If manual you may be in to high a gear for most and when
Braking change down as fast as you can to the gear for the corner
As helps slowing the car.

Couple of corners a little scrappy so more time in there but, don't think I'll have chance for another go this week.
Billy, was your fast lap with stock settings or tuned settings? (it looks tuned) If the latter, it is void I'm afraid. (also, on your replay, your gear on dash appears to be stuck in 4th....weird!)

Nothing wrong with your time at all mate - there are alot of quick guys in here, it can be disheartening at times (Ian, Pearcyy, I'm looking at you)
No use looking at me on this one I'm over a second off the pace lol.I've not had a great deal of spare time the last few weeks, probably put about an hour on this track for the time I did. I had another go last night, was about 8/10ths up at the last chicane and spun it on exit, turned the PS off in anger. Frustrating !
I quite like this combo, except for the fact that I can't seem to be able to nurse the car one lap without breaking the engine! By the second lap I'm already a good 5 km/h or more off pace down the Kemmel straight.
There is more time to be had but without TC it's virtually impossible to attack the way I'd like without cocking it up at some point.
Any chance next combo could be Superkarts around a nice, smooth, wide, flowy track without overly intrusive kerbs?

I didn't realise you could blow the engine in Time Trial mode (you are in Time Trial mode, right?)There is more time to be had but without TC it's virtually impossible to attack the way I'd like without cocking it up at some point.

I don't like to use assists, I find they generally make me slower (apart from ABS sometimes) but, that may be a wheel vs pad thing.
ETA: I vote no to superkarts, can't stand 'em. I'll not be partaking if that gets voted in...

I'm in time trial. I thought any damage to the car was reset by the beginning of each lap but it seems I was wrong.I don't like to use assists, I find they generally make me slower (apart from ABS sometimes) but, that may be a wheel vs pad thing.

Don't knock the superkarts! I too hated them until I had to drive them on a smooth, flowing track and had an absolute revelation. I think it was Donington. Wow.

Wish I could have saved the replay (crappy non-existent PC replay system) as it was my 2nd flying lap of 6, wide entrance into La Source early on the throttle, perfect through Eau Rouge over the kerb on the left at the bottom, clip the kerb on the right, clip the kerb on the left and then clip the kerb at the top on the right, without lifting. Just messed up the final hairpin La Source, by running too deep on the brakes.
(just read above) Replays are only 2 mins for everyone? For circuits that are more than 2mins in length, that is ridiculous.
Ps At least my split times have started to appear on the timing screen

Tried following your ghost FWD, how the hell do you carry that much speed through the first corner? , I must be losing at least a second just on that one bit.
Hairpin/chicane at the end is my worst corner, hate it hate it hate it,
I'm sure I'm getting a lot more understeer after watching a few vids too,

Eau Rouge? (As I always think the first corner is La Source hairpin on the F1 version)
You need to get the exit out of La Source right, no wheelspin. If you are starting a lap go way left on the approach to the hairpin with a late turn in to make the run down to the start finish line longer and therefore faster into Eau Rouge. You need to be clean I go a long way left before turning right towards the right hand kerb and keeping it as straight as possible, which just takes the left wheels over the kerb on the left.
Never lift off the throttle. Closing your eyes helps too
Although I probably got the gear changes perfect on that one which on this car is annoying me again as the HUD gear selector is going red after the dash LEDs have all lit up but I don't know which one to go with, a few times I have probably held the gears too long. I have been waiting sometimes to hear a limiter before changing up but I don't seem to hear it. I have also tried changing down to 5th at Eau Rouge, changing up to 6th after. Can't remember now if that was my quickest lap, try it though.
