Been looking at your sector times on the Steam leaderboards, and I'm getting totally caned in the 1st and 3rd sectors. Down 1.2 seconds to FourWheelDrift. My only saving grace is the 2nd sector where I'm 1.5 seconds up.

So, in the spirit of competition but at the risk of finishing dead last yet again, here's a top tip for the first chicane: aim for the bright green stuff, straighten the car up, keep in fourth over the kerbs so as not to spin out as the wheels touch the ground, then flick into third gear as the car has stabilised and away you go.

So you are cutting the chicane?

Well, I'm riding the kerbs quite aggressively. Not straight-lining it as per Monaco! biggrin

I've done a 1.31.7 but cut the chicane really, not sure i can be bothered with this one, pisses me off how they just let you cut the chicanes.

You need to stay on the track, inside the limits or there's no point doing these.

Worked from home today so spent lunchtime racing FWD's and Tron's Ghosts. I can be ahead (not always!) all the way to hairpin and then just lose it, dropping at least 1/2 sec to the line. Can't seem to carry any speed through the hairpin or final chicane. Anyway, managed a little off my time.

Nice to see the top three for the combo on PC are all PHers though smile

As for track cutting, seems they are going to improve this on the next patch. The way I read it was that TT would have the most severe restrictions too.

Right, I'll DQ myself for this week. Can't save replays so don't know if two wheels were still on track or not.

Can we establish the rules once and for all, though? Are we allowed to ride kerbs, or strictly limited to four wheels on track at all times? And what do we think about assists?

Don't dq yourself fully looket.
If your worrying bout your fastest time stuck with your previous time

I don't mind the kerbs but hitting the bollards may be boundary

First chicane fine but second chicane if were to stick fully on the black stuff
Would struggle to hit 32 seconds

I personally say stay of the AstroTurf behind the bollards and avoid hitting the
Bollards

I've not been able to upload a vid myself at mo but I'm
Able to load up ghost and record racing it but constantly quicker
And racing against speckles ghost I'm messing up the hairpin to stay ahead but will get there

Sorry, I don't agree. It is far too subjective and impossible to police. We established a long time ago that we would let the game dictate what is and isn't allowed which means there is no argument and no ambiguity. If the game allows it, then it is valid - simple.

I don't disagree that you shouldn't be able to cut the chicane so much (in fact, I'm in favour of much stricter limits!) but, if the game allows it, everybody has exactly the same opportunity to do so. If you choose not to, that's entirely up to you but, you're probably going to be slower.

Personally, I will continue to put in the fastest time I can within the limits that the game allows, as I have done in every time trial series I have ever participated in.

And, when they implement these stricter limits, I will abide by those aswell.

Assists are fine (and quite often make you slower!) but, tuning is not - the car must be equal.

No doubt this is going to annoy some of you but, the game says it was valid and I have no plans to DQ myself after running close to 40 laps to get it! I am the first to admit that I took the absolute p|ss on both chicanes tongue out

Fired up the PC to give this a go,to find Steam downloading a 2.1 gig update at 20 Kb/s
Should be good to go next week sometime so someone else will have to be last for a bitsmile
It has been measured in bytes/sec at times furious

Just installed the latest update

Not be able to cut the chicanes now as that's been fixed

Clip a bollard and times are invalid

But... Ran wide a few corners into grass and gravel and didn't come up
Lap time invalid.

Also all times have been wiped on the driver network

Feel slower as well truffling to do better that a 1:33.240 at mo

In career opponent skill goes up by 1 now
And when in car set up tells
You weather prediction and how many laps
You may get from a tank of fuel

Excellent, problem solved.

Unfortunately, I won't have a chance to attempt this combo again today (well, not sober anyway!) so, won't be putting in a proper time.

If nobody objects, I'd like to nominate FourWheelDrift to pick the next combo. My lap may have been quicker but, yours was by far the better lap! thumbup

Hope we can get something sorted before Monday night as it looks like I may have a few hours to get my wheel out.

Just been racing the BMW 320 turbo group 5. Lovely car, what do you think FWD? Up to you of course!
