I completely agree, its not hard. But some people dont want to spend that money on a car they may only use for one race. It is a barrier to entry that means there will be less peple involved than there could have been.
Sell it after, I've done it myself and not lost that much money

I don't think that's the case with a free choice within the class. It would be more true of a Comet or Carbo only series; plenty of people would have to buy one to enter, then not want to keep it afterwards. If you have even just one 10-car garage you really ought to have a usable car in every class.

History dictates that when it comes to off road races on PH they are far from basic dirt jumps hehe
Oh dear haha, along the lines of frustration and others I presume? This would certainly be something v. interesting and probably would make a mix up of the points when it happens. Which is a great thing!

I'm with Jobbo - think it would be good to have one car for the entire series but a variety of tracks ie one with lots of corners and hairpins, one with long straights, one long, one short etc etc. that way everyone is on the same level for a 5 weeks series or whatever in terms of car, the winners will be the best ones who adapt to different courses

Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think Jobbo may have been advocating for different class each race?

Indeed I was - Andy is agreeing with Saiph. Which is odd because he resisted buying a Carbo for the current race series laugh

Haha yeah wrong person! I was happy with the Sultan for the current one becusse I knew I'd be missing at least one so in that respect I was happy with it. But if we were all locked into just one, instead of gt1 with 2 cars in it and gt2 with 2 cars in it, it's slightly different and makes it more of a level pegging, which I would then buy a car for biggrin

Happy to jump in and carry on with the racing thing if it's on any of these days (Sun/Mon/Tue)as i can't do any other evening due to work. Don't mind on which car etc either. Will just need a bit of notice if it is one that would need to be purchased so i could do missions etc to get monies smile

So here you go pansondowlington, if you want to run a series you have to be a bit bloody minded and thick skinned because everyone wants something different.

At some point you have to offer something up and people either race or they don't.

And here I am to add to that!

I understand my proposal was rejected as being too complex but let me complain about the idea of 'using the car everyone has in their garage'. Especially for Sports and Supers, if you say only one car can be used say out of the Zentorno/Entity/Turismo combination, then you'll have the ones who own the other models worried that you let them down. The only way to make it fair is to use a very under-used vehicle in the class for that particular thing.

But then if you say it's from a mix of cars, you're missing the point of the playing field, you may as well just be picking whatever tracks come up and doing them longer than usual, because that's all it will be, people turning up with just their favourite or the best from the class, and that'll just get dull.

I don't see what the problem was with the dual-class system, it made it interesting. Picking cars that you had to use was also part of the charm. I don't think it'll be as interesting if you just 'run what you brung'.

How about keeping it really simple by just letting the winner chose the following week track and car/class?
Then there is no argument as to what is included and not.
Yes, of course not everyone will have the car of choice but can buy it if they wish.
At least then the winner actually gets something worthwhile for it

I think Indigo needs to speak to whoever runs PH these days; there's nothing we can do to assist on here.

They get to pick each week wink
It makes winning all the more worthwhile!
The only rule I would introduce is to say that you can't pick the same class as the race they won in, and every track can only be used once
